What gives? Fire his agent? Sellout and doesn’t care about winning? Get a grip.
Good for Buffalo and good for hall. What’s the problem again?

It likely turns out poorly for Hall if he had any long term offers on the table...so probably not good for him IMO
its a message board people are going to have strong opinions

I believe the Avs offered Hall one year, $6.5 million. He went to Buffalo for $8 mil.
That’s the way the puck bounces

The biggest problems in the playoffs weren't addressed. 17 million in cap space is gone, with only a 15 point defenseman to show for it in terms of scoring (and about 100 points worth in scoring walked away as free agents).
Both major signings on players on the wrong side of 30. One of which has already regressed in 3 consecutive years.
Tod Button (drafting) and Ron Sutter/Ray Edwards (development) are basically keeping the team afloat at this point.
I thought Treliving should have been fired once Dallas beat the Flames.
None of the recent actions have changed my mind in the slightest.

Silver lining is he went to a non-contender out east. I was dreading the thought of him playing with MacKinnon and Rantanen.

|
Hall probably didn't want to come here. He was probably looking for an elite center to play with, to pad his stats for a year so he can really cash in next season. If winning was his priority, he would've taken a 1 year deal with a good team like Colorado or Boston but he probably looked at those teams and realized he would be on line 2. He's looking to boost his value, clearly.

Major flashbacks of this exact thinking:

A good many people had pencilled him into the lineup in a Tavares-coming-home situation. Probably feel spurned and hurt after a year of fan fuelled narrative that he was anxious to come play for the Flames ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Half of CP had a Hall signing and a Gaudreau trade pencilled in for next season.

I'm sorry but this is pure and utter lunacy if Hall really wants to win. To choose Buffalo over Colorado for $1.5 million?
No wonder he failed his boating exam multiple times.

This isn't a Flames thing...fans and media around the league are strongly questioning his rational here, and I am being polite

Most fans here are well grounded, they just tend to have strong opinions one way or another at times. I doubt anyone's feeling were hurt. Disappointment for some for sure.

Nah. People are way too butthurt for it to be because they’re armchair agents and care about his contract value.
Which is just a guess on your part and based on zero evidence. I think this is an excellent contract and will turn out great for Hall. Great signing for Buffalo too.

If 1.5M wasn't an issue, we would likely had Brodie re-signed, but we don't. Damn that greedy Brodie huh?

You do know what IMO means right?
bad season, gets hurt, league has basically zero revenue,
Any of these things could have him wind up taking a worse contract next summer...getting hurt badly ends up with him getting no contract.
There is a reason star players that are UFAs for the first time almost always go for term. Unless Taylor Hall is the smartest guy in the room.
I might work out better for him...more likely it doesn't

What a stupid comparison.
Brodie signed with a very good team, not a bottom feeder like Buffalo.

Very good team that hasn't won a playoff series in 16 years...Brodie did go home though, actual home

It was a stupid comparison.
Brodie actually signed with a team that finished higher than the Flames in the standings. Plus he actually grw up in the area and was a Leafs fan growing up.
Hall signed with the 2nd worst team in the league over the last 15 years, second only to the lowly oilers.

Hall made a terrible decision that likely blows up in his face for sure...I just don't like giving the Leafs anything
Didn't make the playoffs don't forget...Brodie and Simmons put them over the top? doubt it
