I believe had Tre done something of significance at the deadline we would be on to round 2. Certainly still playing round 1.

Bad coaching. You go out and smack the top line around as much as possible don't try to score doesn't matter. Then the rest of the team picks up the slack. That was never the plan Peters coached like the Flames were the much better team so throw out the regular lines and things will work out.

I definitely wouldn't trade him just to shake things up. But if Philly came calling with an offer I couldn't refuse.... They do have a lot of nice, young pieces.

I think Monahan could flourish without the pressure of being the 1C. And damn, you could get an amazing centre by trading Gaudreau.
There’s not a team in the league who would trade a 1C for Johnny. I like Johnny, but wingers hold a fraction of the value of a Center.

Honourable mention to Bubba blowing it for Calgary against San Jose.
3-1 in 94 for sure, and lost 5, 6 & 7 all in OT. It was soul crushing

I think this series might show the opposite...now was not the time to spend assets

I don't know. I know the Flames played poorly but I have to give credit to the Avs. I don't know if Stone or Dzingel or Zucker would have made the difference. Maybe. Whos knows. Avs were pretty damn good.

As I start filing away this series, I have to admit, that I'm kind of glad that I can shave off this god awful playoff beard tomorrow morning.

I look like an angry hobo.

Not if the Flames expect to use line 2 as a shut down line
Money is not fast enough

3rd line center and PP specialist Id be ok with

It feels like deep down I thought they were doomed. We weren’t the same team in the second half of the season. Then somehow we saved our worst hockey for April.

I like Valimaki but add Stone's 6 goals and 10 points into these 5 games and yeah, they're still playing into next week at the very least.

Good teams need two pure elite offensive lines.

Marchessault - Karlsson - Smith
Pacioretty - Stastny - Stone

The Backlund line needs to be the third line. They're the shutdown line.

Not fixated at all, someone else brought it up. But as a Flames fan, it’s easily the thing I’m the least proud of that occurred during this series, a series in which we lost 4 straight games.

Gaudreau + our 1st to NJ for Jack Hughes?

Cue the backlash... it's just spitballing, nothing more.

There's no guarantee he puts up those same points if the rest of his team is playing as ####ty as the Flames did.

Pretty tough to assume he’d produce like that given what we just saw on the ice for the Flames.

I have a hard time believing one guy changes things from getting dominated to winning.
