Well Tre did hint at they knew where they were going to be for a few weeks already. I think he has his mind made up on a few things already. The process was well under way. Which it should be because when it comes time to evaluate the GM, he better have a plan up and running for his meeting with the top cheeses.

I dreaded every PP that the Flames had, You knew they were going to blow it and it would turn the game on a dime for them.

I think the majority of people that watch the Flames know that GG isn't good enough.
With the comments on resiliency, special teams, and evaluations.
IMO its a certainty that GG is fired, but as per usual, it's done with respect.
Waiting a few days or a couple weeks isn't really an issue, if he's not fired in 2-3 weeks then I'll start freaking out.

He doesn't need to be fired yesterday, but there's really no reason it should take weeks. Get it over with and then get to the decisions that are actually a challenge.
|
You have no idea how long or how little time it should take, so what are you arguing about. Just like the rest of us, you're just a fan who has access to limited information necessary to make the decision of keeping the coach or firing the coach. So why do you keep saying the process is useless when you have no idea what the process is or have access to all the information required?
For the record, I think he's gone before the week is up, but that's just an uneducated opinion.

I'm going to put my money on Wednesday. The exit interviews will be done tomorrow, most likely internally GG and Co will know their fate. Presser goes Wednesday for the public.
For me - I hope everyone is gone including Marty. He can be moved to another role in the organization but the entire coaching staff needs to be hand picked by the next coach.

I'm at work, so I'm not able to listen. I just think it serves little purpose to get so worked up like some are. I think it highly unlikely GG stays, yet there have been multiple "gut feels" that this is exactly what will happen. It's going to be a long summer, I think they should keep their rage powder dry

Correction, the majority of us THINK we know he's not good enough (myself included). Pretty sure none of us know it.
For example, this year Paul Maurice and Chevrolettoff (I know that's not right) are amazing at their respective jobs. Last year, most of us also KNEW that neither were good enough and were surprised they retained their jobs. These type of judgement errors will always exist simply because we don't have access to what's actually going on behind the scenes, so we can't know.

There's been so much progress in this area yet the NHL and NFL's of the world still aren't getting it right.
A concussion isn't an injury you can rush back 'if the games matter'. If symptoms were telling the Flames Matthew isn't right, then no matter the game importance I sure hope he'd sit out for the full duration.
|
I took it as more of he was cleared but there was no point in playing when he could take the extra time. Kind of like any other injury at that point of the season except why not take the extra time with a concussion if you can.

Rob Kerr saying just now that Dougie Hamilton did not face the media today. Interesting. They sounded disappointed with him.

I don’t think it’s too far off that we see a clip on the news with some Flames player telling him off in the dressing room.

Thats 2 years in a row now where the media is not happy with Doulgas Hamilton.
Member last year when there was a recording of an unnamed reporter calling Dougie the dumbest player on the ice? Or was that the year before?

Player interviews are stupid anyway. 1 in 20 players will speak something other than a bunch of cliches.

Not sure which game it was but the comments came after he grabbed Perry's stick and they took the very late penalty that cost them.

If he doesn't I think the rest will be and Gully will be given his assosiate coaches, not picked by him. I.E a replaceable HC if they have to fire him mid season next year. Thats IF he survives the evaluation process.
