They seem like smart people with good ideas, but so far the good ideas haven't translated to on-ice results.
That's pretty much my stance on it at this point, too. I feel like their biggest issue is player deployment. Do you think this hinges more on the coaching staff or upper management?

It seems like the Flames got tired of playing well and losing, so now they've decided to play like dog#### and lose instead
Clean house with the bench staff and trade Monahan while you're at it before the rest of the league realizes that he's ####ty Phil Kessel and not the ####ty Toews that everyone thinks he is
Jagr deserves better than this garbage

only saw the final five minutes, but learning that they went 0/3 on the powerplay (and that the ducks won with a pp goal) is not surprising. This same storyline could be predicted for most flames losses.
Losing kris versteeg is not an excuse for the terrible pp. Cassie campbell referenced this and said the team was 5/some-ungodly-number since his injury. If your pp relied on kris versteeg to that degree, then that alone is a fireable offence.
The pk is a hot mess, with guys scrambling all over the place. Even the oilers' pk looked strong against the jets the other night.
You have to think that the coaches are on the hot seat at this point. What is most frustrating is that gg particularly was brought in because he was a "young-player-whisperer" or whatever. So, when does the whispering actually begin?
All NHL teams go through ups and downs in a season, and we can only hope the Flames will bounce back soon. It is unfortunate they are wasting some great defensive performances during this losing streak.
Really bugs me that this team shows no fight when down in a game. They seem devoid of passion. Losing is just another day in the office for this group.
So much promise but they just can’t put it all together or even seem to care to.

Watch sam bennett next game and count how many turnovers he has. Especially in the offensive zone. Also count how many times brodie does that stupid bounce pass off the boards and our forwarda tip it in. Skilled teams score off the rush, offensively skilled lacking teams dump and chase and thats all we ever do
Maybe you should also count how many takeaways he has. He's a puck mover, he's going to get checked sometimes. His giveaway to takeaway ratio is plus 16.

Its hard to find positives with the way the team has been playing

Little of both? Glen's stuck with the guys he's been given. It's not his fault that the fourth line group is what it is. He has to do what he can to maximize their usefulness.
From the looks of this PGT, i'm glad I didn't waste my Friday night with a single minute of this game. Lately we know exactly what Flames team will show up... a team that has 1-2 goals per game in them, an inept PP and PK, and goes out with a whimper in the 3rd

For me watching this group and this system I can’t figure out if this is an up or down. Can’t tell if next they get going on a tear or on a long losing streak or just keep muddling in mediocrity. Unfortunately I feel more like the losing streak or downturn is still coming. Hope I’m wrong yet part of me wants it as I think we need changes. Coaching changes and player shake up both.
I thought the systems were good. Lots of time to recoup draft picks if this does not work out. What we need is some patience. I thought they were visually better. Just need to continue chopping wood and carrying water.
Can we appreciate the fact that now both Keith and Matthew Tkachuk have fought Kesler?
Haha, the title trying to make it seem like knocking Tkachuk's mouthguard out is a big deal . It's Tkachuk, a light breeze from a missed punch could just as easily accomplish the same.
Matthew Tkachuk is quickly becoming my favourite Flame. Do I ever love that kid.
Had to miss the game tonight. Looks like it wasn't a bad thing. I'm really starting to not look forward to game days. It seems like a chore now. You never know what team's going to show up.
The Flames have only let in 2 or fewer in 8 of their last 11.
Is GG really the problem? Not his fault we don’t score.
Why even have a coach? These players have years of experience playing hockey right? Isn't that what everyone says? Well guess what, NHL teams have coaches, and they're kind of important to success regardless what you say. I would have to assume people that discount the importance of coaches haven't played hockey at any appreciable level? Not being a dick, just being up front. Coaching is important, players are important, systems are important (watch beer league if you want an example). The same player under different coaches can and will be a different person. External motivation and guidance is huge. GG should be done and it shouldn't be a question
