Sorry, but if there aren't any consequences for poor play, you end up with the Oilers of the last decade. Bennett deserved the benching.

Oh? And what has that discipline done for us? It hurt a young player's confidence and the team saw no additional success. So...that's bad.

Lucky because we have Elliott in the net, every shot is an opportunity.

When we go full tank Elliott could be a huge asset. Ride him hard then, play Johnson now though to try to win.

The problem with this team is they don't break out through the middle. Everything is a chip along the walls where you can't pick up any speed whatsoever. I thought Gulutzan was going to fix the breakouts. Instead he may have made them worse.

Too bad the team displays no grit.

When did Paul Byron learn how to finish on a breakaway?

I'm sick of Derek Engelland every game the guy is good for one or two brutal giveaways. He can't pass the puck if his life depended on it. It's always a grenade for his defensive partner, an icing, or a giveaway in the defensive zone. This is the guy that gulutzan needs to sit. Atrocious defensively.

It hasn't hurt Bennett's confidence as far as I can tell. And he's an NHL player, not a flower. Or Sven.

And Chiasson takes 2 offensive zone penalties last game and didn't miss a shift or get taken off the PP. What message is that sending a young kid.

Sorry Flames you have been demoted from the big screen to the laptop. It looks like an exciting finish between Michigan and Iowa.

Is he even playing? Honestly he looks like a fourth liner this season. Even a fourth liner would look more noticeable with the amount of ice time he gets.

Bennett played stupidly last game. After the benchings. Not before.

Last time when he got benched, it was on a bad call by the officials. You have to back your players up in those situations.
Right lets say if Hartley, or a another coach has Bennett's back, he is going to play for the coach. Benching a player in front of other rookies/team just makes him feel defeated. It puts him off his game and likely affects his confidence.
