help me out here, how does registering to vote work in the states? when is it done, does it cost money? What's this about not needing ID?
I don't get it. We Canadians just show up with our ID on election day and vote. We can sleep until the next election.

I just don't understand the logic behind somebody voting for a racist, sexist, unqualified assclown like Trump simply because of Clinton's misuse of her email server. This whole thing couldn't be more ridiculous.

same over here. We receive a note via mail a few weeks before the election where it tells us where we have to go on election day. You take that note and your ID with you on election day and that's it.

Maybe. But his stance on nuclear weapons, extorting NATO allies for protection money and love of Putin are bigger concerns than him being a dbag to me.

Registration is free in the USA but I don't know what is actually involved. In Canada, we register to vote as well. If I'm not mistaken every time you do your taxes one of the first general questions is if your information can be shared with Election Canada. They put your name and address on the list of voters. If you show up to that related polling place they cross you off the list. If you show up to a different polling place because you moved you fill out a form to register there before you vote.

This is exactly how Canada makes it easy. You check the box on your tax return and it automatically registers your name and address to the voting list. The default option is to have this box checked so most people don't even know they are doing this and they just show up on election day and are able to vote. There is no such system in the US.

Reports of Georgia possibly being in play for Clinton, but I doubt anything comes of that. Also reports of lower turnout in the Florida panhandle which would be bad news for Trump. Too early to say yet, but so far there has been nothing resembling good news, even good rumours that might end up being true, for Trump.
