At least with Garoppolo he is starting with a guy who was a higher pick...so yeah a first could happen. Plus with all the brain drain out of New England, likely someone from their organization is working for a QB desperate team in the near future.

Over the years he has proven that he can build and offensive and defensive system that he can plug parts into and have them produce really good results. But his real differentiator over the years has been Brady in the offence. With Brady, he always get's exceptional results out of his offence verses the replacement part. Whereas he's been able to replace every other part and still manage to keep on operating at an elite level.

Last night though, it was impressive to see them go on the road and do what they did. Bruce Arians is a good coach...but ol Hoodie has lapped the rest of the coaching field numerous times. It looked like if there was ever a week where the Patriots wouldn't be leading the Division...this could have been it. Instead, Miami can't get it done, Jets lose a heart breaker, Buffalo didn't show up...and New England goes on the road without key pieces in a top ranked opponents building and walk out with a win. What a machine.
Wasn't sure what I'd see last night, but you knew Bill's team would be prepared. Very pleasantly surprised. Edelman was elite, saw some good stuff from Hogan, Amendola in the 4th. Jimmy got through some adversity. Even a decent game by Chandler Jones didn't come back to haunt the Pats.

Griffin underwent an MRI on the shoulder Monday and it confirmed the break. In his postgame press conference, his phone went off and he apologized. "It's my mother,'' he said. "She's very worried about me.''

McCown, who went 1-7 last season, played well last season before succumbing to a broken collarbone and being placed on injured reserve for the final five games.

Deshaun Watson should be your mantra for the next 15 games. Can't afford to mess it up and end up with the third pick this year. Just go 0-16. The Lions and the Browns histories are essentially tied at the hip anyway going back to the 1950s when they were the two best teams by far in the NFL. Might as well go all the way.

And have the Eagles go 0-15 as well!

DeShone (Notre Dame) or Deshaun (Clemson)?

DeShone is from Toledo.

It's gonna be Garoppolo, you can already see it coming. They'll trade the Eagles pick for him, he'll be another Matt Cassel, and 3 years from now we'll be talking about the Browns next franchise QB. Jackson is going to be on the hot seat ASAP because RGIII is already done and Wentz showed nice promise yesterday. If Wentz keeps playing well the heat turns up on Jackson, and he more than likely wants a NFL ready QB like say....Garoppolo. Especially since McCown is a good bet to get hurt soon too (not exactly a spring chicken).

You and I both know it doesn't matter. Whichever one they pick will be the wrong guy.

This new MNF announcer, McDonough, is terrible. He pretty much makes MNF unwatchable.

Just wait until we get to hear Chris Berman slobbering over a microphone in the late game... That will make MNF unwatchable

Maybe he is a great football guy but he is totally monotone and has no emotion or excitement in his voice. It is painful to listen to.

Cardinals top brass acting like the loss to the Pats was some massive shock and an embarassment. Uhhh, ok. They haven't followed much of the last 15 years I guess.

He's not nearly as good as Mike Tirico IMO but ESPN has been losing a fair share of talent of late.

Yeah I was surprised how they could say losing to the Patriots was an embarrassment even without Brady. Maybe they should focus more on actually start playing good in playoff games before they start talking like they are supposed to beat everyone.

Thank jebus ESPN has a sideline reporter devoted to informing us about Kaepernick's behaviour during the national anthem. Now my life is complete.

The Steelers look fresh. Not using starters in the preseason looks like a good move so far.

Williams had a huge game plus Pouncey didn't get hurt.

So the quarterback kneeling is a scandal. The huge #### off flag which replaces the stars of the United States with the 49er logo is okay.

God damn, I hate the NFL. Football is great. #### the NFL.

Either the SF defense came out really prepared tonight or Gurley is extremely overrated.

Gurley's legit. SF doesn't have to respect the pass at all. Look how many guys they have in the box.

How terrible must Goff be to not be able to beat out this guy OR his backup?
