Why wasn't there a bigger deal made of Todd Mclellan hiring? Cause it wasn't Toronto. Nhl.com represents all NHL teams, and should represent them equally. I expect a live press conference to dominate nhl.com next time the Panthers hire a new coach.
The NFL.com doesn't give Green Bay anymore spotlight than Jacksonville. It's unprofessional for the NHL to do so.

The reason they're doing this is money. They're a business and their priority is making money. Hype up the leafs and how they're getting the best head coach in the history of people telling other people what to do and how the leafs are going to become an NHL juggernaut that won't be stopped and how you should go out and get a leafs jersey or some other form of leafs promotional item and then how everyone should rush to buy tickets and how this will turn more fans into leaf fans and how occasional fans should become regular fans and how this will generate money and how..... You get the idea. It's a hype machine making hype to generate money.
