After the draft and this move I'm finally starting to get excited to watch the Flames again. Can't wait to watch this new ear of Flames hockey.

Was told it wouldnt work out with cap space so Wilson gave him a list of teams interested. He stopped him at Calgary.

I know there's about 200 posts between this one and the response but...
I agree. I saw him a couple times with the Royals, nothing special. Something in college though turned him around, and when he came back to the Hitmen, he was a decent player. Good NHLer, good role player. Glad to have him.

He filled out and added another 40 pounds?
I had him in midget (15 year old ) he was stick and and prob only gained 10/15 pounds by the time he got to the Hitman - now he is 210.
Never saw him with the Royals, maybe timid is better word than lazy

Sounds like SJ didn't have enough room for him, but respected him enough to ask where he'd prefer to be traded.
Good feelings all around with this move.

Trading Stajan with our current centre depth would be idiotic, we need him still.

Fantastic trade!
Now this is how you ice a team through a rebuild. Lots of size and jam to keep the opposition honest. McGrattan has to be signed as well.
Up North, they did a horrendous job surrounding their kids. This team will be competitive, and will be hated to play against. Hopefully this will keep everyone playing hard every night to stay in the lineup. I really think chippy games gets the whole team more involved and focused. All you need is one guy to start throwing his weight around, and the rest of the team follows suit. Send out McGrattan for a few shifts to quiet the opposition a bit...
I like it

Nice quotes:
“I’ve had a smile on my face the whole time,” Galiardi told the Fan 960. “If I went somewhere else, I’d be a bit more sour. It’s been my dream my whole life to play for the Flames and I’m not just saying that. I’ve been watching them since I was a little kid. My dad was a big Flames’ fan. It’s just surreal.”

Hm.. Don't know if I really like that attitude. However it sounds like he really wanted to play here so I guess it only matters to the 29 other teams. Perhaps he could be another Glencross.
