anyone else having trouble with iTunes 10.5 iTunes store not showing up? I had the same problem with 10.4, and got it to work by uninstalling everything Apple off of my computer, and then reinstalling iTunes.
I've now tried that twice with 10.5 and it doesn't want to work.

I'll assume you're using Windows XP, since I had problems installing 10.5 on my work computer as well. Here is what I did to fix the issue:
Goto control panel, add/remove programs, goto Apple Software Update, click on "Change" then "Repair". I tried the install again and worked perfectly.

ALL ABOARD!

Edit: Sorry, I miss read your post. I thought you were talking about iOS5. On my Mac I couldn't get the update by requesting it through iTunes. I had to check for system updates.

Anybody else getting the feeling that this is going to be a pretty big disaster? Just thinking about what's going to happen to Apple's servers once millions of people start backing up their phones to the cloud at the same time.

Disaster would more correctly describe Blackberry's situation at this moment.

Yes. Wasn't it nice for RIM to honour Steve Jobs with 3 days of silence?
-some guy on Twitter.
Anyone with iOS 5 been able to send messages as iMessages? I have a friend with iOS 5 as well and it only sends messages via sms.

After not being impressed with the iPhone 4S announcement, I've come around mostly because I've just finished my 3-year contract with my 3G (with Fido), and it will be a major hardware and software upgrade. I want to buy it unlocked to avoid another 3-year contract though, so I'm going to buy it unlocked from Apple for $649 (16GB).
A few of questions:
1) I assume I can just keep using my plan with the new phone? (I've never done a hardware upgrade)
2) Does it come with the micro SIM or do I have get that from Fido?
3) How do you switch the phone number from the old SIM to the new micro SIM?
