Heat recalled Zach McKelvie today from Alaska.

I'm guessing this might be in response to the hit Corey Locke took. Didn't look good.

Doesn't make sense to me. Gillies and MacDermid have that job. And he's not Locke's position for a straight up injury call up. Lamb/Arsene still healthy on the backend.

NHL teams will be back practicing by Wednesday. It's more likely that Chris Breen will once again be on his way to Calgary or that Shane O'Brien will be moved out shortly.

Time will tell I guess.

The question would be why????? 10 games ECHL and 9 games AHL has spent more time warming than playing this season.......no one better or someone better that deserves the opportunity????

You are right, it's probably not a straight up recall for McKelvie. Breen will probably be recalled, Locke could be hurt and who knows what will happen with trades and recalls. Having McKelvie is good because he plays both forward and defense.

Yea, didn't mean a straight replacement for Locke. That'll probably be someone 3rd line bumped up or maybe Hano like it was on Sunday.

Could also be anticipating a couple call ups as with Berra and Smid at the Olympics maybe Hartley will use this time to bring up a couple guys for some NHL practices. I know the Coyotes are doing something similar with a "mini training camp" to call up some players, give them a mid season look while they have some guys in the Olympics and some space to fill.

Any word on call-ups? With Berra in Russia, Ramo hurt, and Ortio in Abbotsford, the Flames might not have any goalies for practice tomorrow.

I haven't seen anything yet. Nothing on the AHL transaction list and nothing being reported.

Perhaps Malarchuk will step in and take over in goal for practice. I think Rich Hesketh has also been known to play goal for practice in the space of an injured goalie too.

Do we know Ramo is still hurt? I thought he was due back after the Olympics.

Ortio and Smith are on their way back per the transactions page. Any idea why MacDermid is suspended by the Heat?

Evan Trupp has also been recalled from Alaska.

Hopefully Joni is just a practice fill in and then returned for the game Friday. Otherwise we are just with Roy in net and some PTO tryout contract as backup again as I don't think MacDonald made the trip to Chicago.

I'll bet $'s to donuts all that comes out is some BS story and not the real truth..... those who claim to be closest to the team should know if they claim to know the players and coaches like they do....or will they fall back to their respective default positions???

I wonder who you are to be so butt hurt about the Heat. Did Ward not give you enough ice time?

My own take on the suspension and transactions:

Lane MacDermid Suspended...

Rocky Mountains Shuffle...

Care to share the real truth?

Government cover ups? Stanley Kubrick? Tinfoil hats? Lizard people? Grassy knolls?
