Savvy players (or ones with coaches who know better) know that touching McDavid or Draisaitl puts them in the box immediately. They won't play their usual chippy game against them like Benn normally plays.

Its why I figure if the Oilers make the next round, don't expect guys like Trouba or Bennett to step up and lay a big hit. Not happening.

And I can imagine this will frustrate a number of fans to no end.

This is the biggest issue with the league, why do certain players get different rules?

I didn't think the series was going to be a cakewalk for Dallas, but I did think they would win. With Dallas' home record, I'm a little concerned going into tonight.

This is why this "right of way" era has tarnished the product.

If tanev can fit his foot in the skate, he will play. Guys a warrior. As for effectiveness? Hard to say. It takes alot to take him out of the game so leaving last game must have meant hes in alot of pain

Have to feel for him.

Looking back would have rather traded him to Colorado or Florida for future considerations.

Probably feels like he’s back with Flames with players who don’t care and are no shows against a poor opponent like Edmonton.

You put it all on the line for the team that pays you. If you can't do that this late in the playoffs you'll quickly find yourself out of a well paying job.

SN doesn’t get money from the Stars it’s paid by the Oilers. Rogers and Oilers have a massive partnership and the circle jerk unfortunately is here to stay. Plus being the only Canadian team left it’s a given.
