The a-hole in me really wants to take a huge rip off a bong and blow it in your face while you are pontificating about people being lazy for sleeping in on the weekend.

I’m sure you probably have while my dogs pinched loafs on your site out at tunnel mountain
So honest question. Is sleeping till 10:30 really a thing for anyone past their mid 20’s, excluding shift workers? I can’t sleep past 8:30 or 9:00, even after getting home from a red eye flight. Haven’t been able to since my party days.

I guess he's not a good man like you. A real man. A big, manly man. He's like a baby-man, man. Napping all day, sucking on his mommy's teat. Teat sucking little baby, napping like a stupid **** ****er

Sleeping in on the weekend is something many like to do. You seem to be unaware of that or choose to ignore that.
Out of respect would it not be easier to do your yard work in the afternoon? Or have a quick chat to see if it would affect them. Be a good neighbour.

Or just don't jump to insane judgments of others based on them shutting out obnoxious noises (and allergens).

And what if one neighbour sleeps in the afternoon and the other sleeps in the morning? Just never do yard work for fear of upsetting someone?
So long as it’s within the bylaws for noisy times, do your yard work whenever you want.
If your neighbours can’t handle it, they should move to the country and not live in a city. Or a town. Or anywhere with neighbours. Or noise of any kind.

You have a problem with talking with said neighbour to see if there is a problem? Or do you decide to be a jerk, because you can?

Bus stop/Driveway fiasco round 8
Bus stops running at 6:30. And it’s an empty ass bus that runs back and forth all day for no reason other than the marginal community down the block. It’s a quite neighbourhood street.
Bus stop is a mile and half, starts at my driveway and goes all the way to the end of the block, including a specific bus pad that the whack ass drivers refuse to use because my driveway is apparently a mire appropriate option.
So, being my driveway and all, I park my truck and unload building materials. Come inside, say hi to my daughter yada yada, trucks there for probably half an hour in total, I don’t know. But there’s no longer a bus running. And there’s half a block of space, including a bus pad, if it were to run. My truck is not blocking ####.
CPA called a tow truck. Not because there was a vehicle blocking a private driveway, no no no. Because the silliest bus zone in the silliest bus route that was done operations for day has a vehicle taking less than 10% of it.
This winter I am not sure as #### not shovelling that god damn bus pad. Damn I can’t believe how little this impacts anyone but seems to be CPAs priority.

I feel like 10:30 AM is a perfectly reasonable time to do yard work on a weekend without having to check with neighbours, no?

I loved sleeping in on the weekends (pre-kids) but totally agree 10:30 is reasonable for yard work.
I don't think he shouldn't do the yard work, just that his attitude about it was pretty poor.

I get it, you are carting around precious children. However, I don't need a blinking light on the roof to make me aware of the 40 foot long, bright yellow building rolling down the road holding everyone up. It tends to draw attention to itself as-is.

Makes them way more visible in poor weather and especially fog. Also rural or sparsely populated roads that have dips in them. Pretty strange gear grinder especially since Calgary has had some pile ups due to fog. That relatively recent one on the 22x over the Bow comes to mind. I guess that flashing light being the difference between a loaded semi rear ending a stopped tin can school bus is stupid though.
This is one of the dumbest gear grinders I've read here.

I don't think his complaint was regarding their use during poor visibility or fog
I declare the ground gears legitimate. The same Government report that recommended the strobes was the same one that decided the busses didn't need seatbelts. Passive safety my ass

On a full flight. My backpack is under the seat in front of me. People can’t fit their bags in bins as lots of people have backpacks in overhead bins instead of under their seats.

Ok, guy.
Because there are no seatbelts there shouldn't be other safety features? How does the light affect anybody negatively? Because it flashes? I don't get what you're even arguing here.
My kid gets picked up on a 100kph undivided highway, in a dip, and there's often fog. Forgive me for thinking that you are whining about something that is completely ridiculous. You're providing a great example of being entirely clueless about something that don't see the value in because it doesn't do anything for you.
There's a light on the school bus. It shouldn't be there because there are no seatbelts? Seriously, I can't even believe this is a discussion. Heading back into the shadows. What a f'ing stupid argument.

Given my first hand account responding to traffic accidents, and the moth effect especially when it comes to drunk drivers, yes I would say the flashing white light is incredibly dumb, and yes you can't convince me it's for safety. I used the lack of seatbelts as an example.
It's so they can pretend they're doing something about safety because it's cheap, while ignoring the fact that school busses are not designed with safety in mind, and actually doing something that would be effective would cost too much money. It's not about safety, it's just about placating the Helen Lovejoys of the world

Yeah, what do I know, I only stand on the road at night during emergencies. I probably don't know a thing about flashing lights
