There was a story the other day about a man who was shot by the police in his home after the police were responding to a domestic dispute. The police apparently had the wrong address and the man who was shot was not the subject of the complaint. The stupid thing is that when the police knocked on the door, he answered the door while holding a hand gun. He didn't know it was the police, he apparently just answers the door while holding a gun. The police saw that and shot him. Imagine living in a place where before answering the door, you feel like you need to have your gun ready.
The wife apparently then started shooting at the police and they fired back at her. No one was hurt and she was not charged.

The Second Amendment is a relic of a bygone era. Society has evolved since the 1700s... but the US is still obsessed with it in a very creepy way.

The usual idiots are already culture-waring the hell out of this shooting, which at first glance seems like a very specific disgruntled shooting event (employee of the bank shooting senior management).
Of course, because the shooter had pronouns (He/Him) listed on his LinkedIn bio (like 50%+ of LinkedIn users, especially those whose companies require it), it's being claimed as a "left-wing shooting", with the rumor mill already claiming they were trans.

I’ve learned that all the mass shooters were wearing pants. It’s pants, not guns. Ban pants.

A very large percentage could care less about the SA, this is about money.
If you did a country wide vote to remove all non-hunting guns it would even be close, AR's and handguns would be gone.

It's "couldn't" care less, meaning they care so little that they couldn't care less than they already do.
Not trying to be a grammar cop or pedantic or anything...pretty sure most of us have had the expression wrong before being corrected. It's just a funny one because when you get it wrong you're saying literally the opposite of what you mean to say.

I mean. We need to be clear on this. It's an important issue.

Actually so many people have been using it wrong for so long that it's entered common language and now is "officially" correct along with "couldn't care less"

This means could care less has been in general parlance since before any of us but Dion were born.

As of April 10, there were 146 mass shootings in the US (min 4 people shot/killed not including the shooter)
At this point the Onion should leave their shooting story up permanently as a scrolling banner and just change the details...

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Most recent survey by Gallup has 43% of Americans believing that gun sale laws should be kept the same or less strict. So obviously they wouldn’t support that vote.
And the 57% believe it should be stricter came with no other qualifiers as to what they mean (could mean something as simple as better background checks).
