They can LTIR the entire roster for all I care, as long as they clobber Edmonton in round 1.

1. WOLF
2. CORONATO
3. HOWARD
4. HONZEK.
Flames really need to target a center or two in their returns.
|
That's the thing - Howard is the best asset and:
1) he's small
2) he's a winger
3) he's an American at college
THat can't be the meain prize

Markstrom 50% Retained
Rooney
For
Mercer
1st Round Pick
Casey
Vanecek
Would imo go down as the best trade in the history of this franchise.

Rooney makes a ton of sense for Jersey IMO seeing as they lost McLeod and in that trade would also be losing Mercer.
50% retention is steep for two more seasons.
Would also be nice if the 2024 1st wasn't conditional.

Really don't know much about Howard but Gauthier is very interesting.
Non-stop motor, hard and accurate shot, has some solid skill and quite a bit of snarl to his game. Not a big forward but will likely turn into a very solid third line pest.

Honestly I'd be willing to throw Duehr in too for that Mercer, 1st, Casey, Vanecek package
They need cheap depth, and Flames have too many wingers and I'd rather get guys like Coronato, Klapka, and even Pettersen a look in the lineup

Not interesting to me considering we already have plenty of those. Same with Howard, smallish skill winger. I just don't like what TB has to offer.

Don't get me wrong, I fully agree with you. But I didn't want to sell the acquisition of Howard short. He's good, real good.

Now Mark Stone is out for a while. We sure Vegas is even going to make the playoffs?

Vegas has to be in the thick of things for the next few years because of the other leagues moving in there. So to stay there I don’t think they’ll offer an all in package for anyone.

Ellis suggests that the Flames are contemplating parting ways with defenseman Rasmus Andersson and forward Andrew Mangiapane, while the Coyotes are reportedly considering offering power forward Lawson Crouse, promising defenseman Victor Soderstrom, and a coveted 2024 first-round pick.

Cane we get Barret Hayton instead of Crouse? That's....a compelling trade. I'm a fan of Soderstrom. I'm a fan of a 2024 1st. I'm not a fan of Crouse. But Hayton....yeah.

Already posted and confirmed these trades are taken from fan suggestions on capfriendly.
Terrible proposal.

I like the idea, need to sort out what else would be involved. If it's just as stated, feel we could do better
