5 year contract for Garrett in Dallas. Assuming most of the current staff is gone (and it seems they are), this seems like too much. He had a borderline All-Star team of coaches and co-ordinators...I wouldn't give him more than 3 years but I guess Garrett had some leverage.

Jets hire Todd Bowles as their coach. Poor guy, like him as a coach but the franchise is a disaster.

He ran a good defense in Arizona, will be interesting to see how he can handle the Jets' offensive situation...
Overall I am happy as hopefully it will weaken the Cardinals. The NFC West is crazy competitive.

Poor Raiders fans, Jack Del Rio is expected to be their next coach. Obviously a very mediocre hire.

And Adam Gase is apparently going to be the 49ers coach, which might be the greatest head coaching downgrade in history.

Not everything...just most things. In this case Gase doesn't get hired without Manning and Del Rio is another retread (and another Broncos DC since the last one worked out so well...). I doubt either fanbase is all that excited with these hires, particularly the 49ers who had a top 5 coach and now have a Peyton Manning OC (when we all know Peyton is the real OC). The Bowles hiring is nice but the Jets are the Jets.

Meh, there's nothing wrong with that.
The more I think about it the less I mind it. He did kinda get a bum wrap with the Jets. However it's not like the Bills have anything better going on at QB.

I'm not over the moon about replacing Harbaugh with Gase (I didn't want to see Harbaugh gone in the first place).
But I am willing to see how Gase can do. Great coaches like Steve Mariucci and Nick Saban have said that Gase is a great young football mind and could the next big thing (If you need links, I can provide them.)
Manning has also gone out of his way to give great recommendations for Adam Gase.
He is obviously an unknown at the head coach position but I am intrigued about having a new young coach versus some old retread. Esepcailly someone who can possibly fix the Niners offence.
If he can fix the bottom ranked offence they had last year and the 49ers can keep the defensive coaches intact they could bounce back nicely next year (especially if they're healthy).

Ray Lewis puts it on a tee for anyone to mock him. Thanks Ray

There’s no such thing as a tuck rule! If the ball is in your hand, and I knock it out your hand, whether it’s going backwards, forwards, lateral, sideways, however it’s coming out, that’s a freaking fumble!

Lots more trickling out after the fact on John Fox and the Broncos.
First of all, it was obvious from the start that Fox was the perfect coach to take over after the Josh McDaniels disaster. They needed a positive guy to bring respect to the organization, get the players to like him, and start a rebuild.
But Fox is not the kind of guy you win a super bowl with. He routinely got outcoached, did not gameplan well and didn't make good halftime adjustments.
His "not too shabby" comment describing last year's disaster sums him up perfectly.
But apparently he leaked to Jay Glazer BEFORE the playoff game last Sunday that he'd be available if he lost and allowed Del Rio and Gase to interview multiple times the week before the game and that didn't go over well with Elway, understandably. Guy was looking out for himself and his team never looked ready to play.
First of all, Del Rio. The Raiders can have him. Guy played such soft, passive sets. Having Talib cover Ty Hilton instead of Chris Harris was criminal. He actually had Pot Roast dropping into coverage. No joke. And didn't have Von and Ware on the field at the same time often. Just brutal stuff.
Need an aggressive d-coordinator who plays to the players strengths and utilizes the massive amount of talent that exists on that side of the ball.
As for Gase. If the 49ers hire him it'll be laughable. Possibly the least qualified head coach ever. Let's be honest Peyton runs the offense and he liked Gase so much because Gase sort of stepped out of the way and let him do his thing. He may be a bright football mind but just don't see him as HC material at this point.
Happy to be cleaning house in the coaching department. Dan Quinn will be interviewed, as will Gary Kubiak, and they've even reached out to Urban Meyer already.
Elway says Manning will be involved in the HC search which doesn't seem wise as Peyton will only be in the picture one more year most likely. But Elway is all-in to win now and getting a coach that gameplans and adjusts well could very likely still get this team over the hump.
Exciting times.

49ers set to promote DL coach Jim Tomsula to head coach, per sources. Still ironing out details, but Tomsula expected to be 49ers next HC.

Surprising to see them bypass Fangio. Bold hire but I like it more than a retread, and it keeps some continuity from a team that's already pretty good.

Apparently this opens the door for Fangio to move to Washington as their DC. Wonder who SF hires as an offensive coordinator to work with Kap.

When Gase really got noticed was the year with Tebow at the helm where he was able to adapt the offense to Tebow's limitations and have some success.
You're selling him short. That's not to say I think he's the right guy for a HC job right now, but he's an up and comer for sure.

Tomsula is super popular in the dressing room. When he mopped up for Singletary and won his one previous game as HC, he and the team were really happy.
Rumours have swirled that he was who York and Baalke wanted all along, but no one was sure if he has the skills to be a long term head coach. I guess we find.
I'm really hoping that this doesn't mean Fangio leaves, but it has been believed that if Tomsula was promoted over Fangio that Fangio would bolt. Fangio is an incredible DC and really provided a solid defense in the face of catastrophic injuries.
I'm just hoping Tomsula isn't a guy who will be walked all over.

Yeah, will Tomsula float on his own, or will he end up as Romeo Crennel. Chiefs players loved Crennel....but he wasn't HC material. will be interesting to see if Tomsula can do it. He has had a few years to figure it out since he got a taste as interim HC.
