I absolutely dread going into work. Zero sleep last night with dread. I think the boss is on the hot seat and is being rotten to people. I've steered clear fortunately. God I hate this industry. So close to pulling the pin. Oil price drops means you are allowed to start becoming a piece of garbage human. The amount of regret I have is something else. I have the backbone of a worm.
Won't someone think of the 78 year old million dollar houston shareholders?

I find that drinking alone when the rest of the house has gone to bed very helpful

A couple of my reports kinda fataed up something causing a cost overrun ($90k) so I've kinda bullcrapped to make it look like I fataed up. Hell been crippled for a few months not working. I'm not meant to manage people because I'm an idiot and weak.

I'm more of a night owl than a morning person but this was pretty much my 'go to' when my kids were still young. Come home from beer league hockey late on a Friday or Saturday night and everyone has gone to bed. That was my 'me time', peaceful and calm. I wasn't going to sleep anyhow so a cold brew or two was perfect.

A reply that made me laugh, nod in agreement, and acknowledge the slight darkness of the truth of your reply. Drinking late affects my sleep, so instead I usually stay up too late mindlessly scrolling music instagram, watching shows, or what not. And then I hate myself in the morning for staying up too late.
Actually, I might be better off having a drink or two and going to bed earlier than midnight. Might have a similiar affect as staying up way too late.

I’ve got this sudden change in flavour preference. Maybe being dead for a bit fatas things up. Garlic is vile now where I was ambivalent to it before. I hate pizza where I used to love even the crappiest of pizzas. Garlic has this acrid spicy nasty flavour to it. All the good foods I loved before are dead to me. I love milk though. Sigh.

We find that door-to-door campaigning by the candidate increases the candidate's vote by 3 percentage points and the vote margin by 6 percentage points in a two-candidate race.

How Effective Is Political Canvassing?
https://callhub.io/blog/canvassing/h...al-canvassing/
Quote:
Ask France’s ex-President Francois Hollande, who will tell you that door-to-door canvassing increased his vote share by 3% in 2012.
Political canvassing efforts are undertaken with four main objectives:
Identifying supporters: To understand who is likely to vote for you
Voter ID: To get more information on voters in your lists for better targeting and segmentation
GOTV: When you are sure of a voter’s support for you
Persuasion efforts: When the voter is on the fence, and you want to swing their vote.

YouTubers who put preroll clips before the video. I’m sure it’s got something to do with the algorithm but I don’t need a teaser for a video I’m about to watch, so stop it, now.

You Know What Really Grinds My Gears? Now with 3x more gears...
People seem to think that it is a 4 way stop right before the entrance to the Costco Gas Station near the Michael’s at Beacon Hill. It’s not. They honk and act like I am budging ahead when I roll through and turn left there.

Have you tried drinking blood yet? Maybe that’s your drink of choice at parties now.

I have one bag and I have been trying to use it up for years by tossing two leaves into tomato sauce whenever I am making any and then fish them out at the end - that’s actually the fun part - but I wouldn’t purchase any more.
I think one YT guy made a deep dive video into bay leaves and whether they can actually elevate a dish with their presence or if they are too subtle to be noticeable. It was titled something like “bay leaves: do they do anything?”.

It depends what you're making. Sauces, I can't really tell because of how heavy the flavor is, especially in a heavy tomato sauce or chili.
But something a bit lighter like chicken noodle soup, it's subtle but can be noticeable if it's missing.
In Borscht, I feel like I can notice a subtle difference in aftertaste if it's missing, but only if I've been intentionally in doing my mirepoix nice and slow for that extra depth of flavor and sweetness. But the aftertaste is subtle and I only know something is missing, but I typically don't know what it is until I realize there's no bay leaves being fished out of the soup. I can't tell much of a taste/after taste difference from bay leaves if I just throw all chopped ingredients together in a borscht and boil. I think the acidity makes it hard to tell.

Guys...if a political volunteer comes to your door they are unpaid normies who are doing what they think is something that will help their country. Don't be ####ing dirt bag #### faces to them.

I’ve knocked on thousands of doors in election campaigns and have never encountered that. I’ve been lucky, I guess.

Speaking of YouTube anyone notice how when you open it on a device it immediately plays a commercial. The ads are already over the top as it is.

I have a bad knee and when possible avoid those seats. I politely told them that I had paid for that seat including because of my knee. They said they couldnt' sit in their assigned seats because someone else was in there, but refused to tell me which seats those were. I said if there was a family with kids trying to sit togehter, I would make sure they can do that. They continued to argue with me until the flight attendant had to get involved.
Why do people do this? it puts the other person in an awkward position where you feel like you are somehow the bad guy in the whole thing.
Again, if there is a young child needing to sit with a parent, I'm 100% fine with accomodating that. But I'm not going to take a worse seat so you and your partner can sit together.
And then on the second flight dude next to me had taken something and was out of it. He spent most of the flight full on sleeping on my chest and shoulder. I'll be honest, I was intimidated by him. He was very large, grumpy, and just seemed off. I didn't want to have a real problem with him while hurtling through the sky.
Long day of travel.

I used to fly regionally a ton for work and I would always make sure I was the last person on the plane, then I would just pick my seat if there was better ones than mine available. Thanks to the ridiculous charges to sit exit row I was usually able to snag one of those. Only one time (out of probably 30) did someone come on to the plane later than me and I was in their seat. I just apologized and moved to a different seat. I couldn't imagine sitting in someone else's seat and not just moving lol, people are unreal.
