Stars won't trade Johnston for Raz, they need to keep him as part of the package for McDavid.

Sillinger for 18, sure. But I'm not enamoured with it. Would personally like it if we threw the kitchen sink at moving to #4 (ie: 18, 31, Andersson, future 1st). We get a young controllable asset that can grow with Parekh and hopefully Honzek.

Yet many are hoping to get 2oa in a deal involving Andersson?

Dobson deal should set the expectations lower on a Andersson return.

Ya because it won’t just be Raz. Raz +++ for 2nd overall should make sense for both sides
Although we don’t know if NYI offered Dobson +++, I’m going to assume they didn’t offer much more.

Of course, there ARE some people for whom it applies, but they are pretty rare. Multiple concussions is a very big concern. Ongoing back problems is a big concern. Two unrelated injuries do not make someone injury prone.

You could look at the two injuries that Zary incurred this season as him being less injury-prone. Both hits looked like he would suffer serious damage requiring surgery, but he was only out for weeks for both. He could be made of adamantium for all we know.

Andersson++ for Robertson
Robertson+ for 2OA. Sharks get a local star winger just entering his prime
I know it won't happen, but it would give me life

For some teams Andersson is already the top choice.
- Ekblad is higher pedigree and more talented but will also be more expensive.
- Andersson is more durable, can be dirt cheap for 1 year and with an 8 year extension a team can have him a full competitive Win-Now cycle.
A team like the Stars and 'Canes cannot consider Ekblad at all.
The Sharks can go for either Ekblad or Andersson, but in an Andersson trade the Sharks could try to get D prospects that they need too.
Mammoth and CBJ have cap space to spare but could also benefit from a cheap Andersson if they want to make other moves like chasing Marner.

The Stars would just trade Robertson for the 2nd overall if that was on the table

Just waiting for the obligatory presser at 10 tonight with Conroy saying there was alot of conversations nothing really got close, Andersson loves being a Flame so we'll go into the season with him.
Come trade deadline its a sellers market o we get a 2nd a b level prospect or he gets injured and we get nothing.
With the trades being made today and the prices paid I really hope Raz is traded in the next 3 hrs before the draft.

Whats crazy is people dream of 2nd overall and we have maybe one asset that would START the conversation but not end it and that’s Wolf.

I think the idea would be Dallas prefers players that help them now during their competitive window (Andersson + Posposil for example) rather than picks/prospects that help 3-4 years from now (eg. Misa).
And the Stars were rumoured to be very interested in Andersson. Again, it’s very, very unlikely but I think the trade would make sense for all 3 teams.

What’s with all the Debbie downers. The worst case is they get the same return as Hanifin. Doesn’t sound like Conroy has any ideas of keeping Andersson. The only reason would be if the return isn’t there.

This is particularly true for Andersson, who has missed all of 11 games his entire career.
Availability is a skill.
Ekblad misses 11 games a year as a matter of course, the only question is does he miss 20 games or 30.
I know which one I’d give the bag to.
