Well, this wasn't the result I wanted to wake up to. Ah, well.

The NHL should be embarrassed after that second period. The game management was blindingly obvious, and is something they should want nowhere near the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I can't imagine being an Oilers fan, seeing the second period of the game, and STILL being an Oilers fan. What an embarrassment to the game.

Give Bouchard the Nurse contract minimum this off-season for sure.

I’m noticing a lot of acquaintances in Ontario starting to notice and get annoyed with how whiney the Oilers are, and how much they embellish. In particular McAvi and Crysaitl. It’s a good feeling.

2 clean body checks in 2 different games got called for penalties.

The NHL has a serious officiating issue.

Any other team after bashing the officials would have been punished but nope the Oilers have the refs hand them the game.

The CFL has better officiating.

When Doughty fell leading to the 3-1 goal, if LA was trailing 3-0 at that point I'm 99 percent sure that would have been called a trip.

NHL game management is ruining the league.

Why even play Game 5? Who cares about Las Vegas or Winnipeg? Just crown the Oilers.

Am I doing this right?

I don’t like how that win played out. Hopefully the Oilers blow it big at home

Disappointed, but expected given the #### show we had pushed for the last couple of days. Go Kings. Show the Oilers are pretenders.

That was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen in a playoff game and it directly lead to Edmonton winning. If the officiating was half competent the Kings undoubtedly win that game in regulation.

You can argue Korpisalo is the main reason the Kings have two wins in this series but you would have liked him to have at least one of those last two goals. He was beat clean on both shots.

If I’m the Kings I am looking for a mainstay in net in the offseason. Korpisalo is good but not good enough imo. There’s a reason why most of the games have been 3+ goals by each team.

Absolutely brutal officiating. You knew they wouldn’t call a penalty on McJesus because he’s essentially a ref now anyway but that “trip” on dry saddle was absolutely atrocious, especially considering as it was a text book clean hit which led to a 2 on 1 scoring chance. Yeah NHL… get your s$&t together.

The Oilers played their worst game of the series and won. Who do they think they are? The Leafs?

It will be interesting to see if they go back to Skinner or start Campbell on Tuesday.

Wait wait wait

Character is defined by how one conducts themselves in the face of adversity.
filling the ice with garbage after one loss.
complaining that the league is out to get them after all the favorable draft luck.
chest thumping after being gifted wins by constant game/series management calls.
complete oblivion regarding the embarrassing homer national media.
seeking validation in the strangest of places after modest success.
seeking the assistance of individuals who by all accounts prey on weaker individuals in their personal lives.

interesting

What is a oxymoron example?

using the word "character" to describe the oilers organization

The winning goal in game 2 wasn't pretty either. He's playing like Quick last year in the playoffs. When he's good he looks really good but lets in bad goals at the worst time.

I'd argue it's easy to tell which way the wind is blowing in Edmonton. Smells like ####; from the west. Smells like piss; from the north. Smells like garbage; from the east. Smells like a tire fire; from the south.

The guy has been unreal on east-west plays in tight. He's made two or three highlight reel saves seemingly every game on cross crease plays.

On the other hand he's been beat high on long range wristers with regularity.

I think the reason Korpisalo has been so good against the Oilers is because they love passing it into the net. They should probably take a page from the Calgary playbook and just start ripping shots from everywhere.

The games will be high scoring the Pacific was the worst defensive division and best offensive.

4-3 and 5-4 leads you can't sit back you need to keep going for it especially with the pathetic reffing and the Oilers always getting the cheap calls.

Last year with the Coleman goal and now with that pathetic call on Fiala its clear the NHL is trying to fix this for the Oilers.

Changing the refs after Woodchuck cried.

I forgot about this one. Did we ever find out if this is a normal thing that happens in the NHL during a playoff series?

I went on scountingtherefs.com and had a look and seems the officials change for almost every game for each series. Which is what I thought but wanted to confirm.
