Yeah. Teams never use the same catcher for both sides of a double header for a reason.

I’m going to try to spend the next few days just trying to soak up every minute left in this amazing run - win or lose.

I feel the same. My daughter is 4 and has fully embraced watching the Blue Jays as a new part of her bedtime routine. It'll be bittersweet when it's done, no matter the result.
I am loving this run. It's an exhausting experience even as a fan though, too. I will miss it but also embrace the additional time back in my life as it is consuming me entirely. Doing it with young kids, navigating bedtimes etc., it's been a chore on MST.

Have to commend the team for coming out after a gutting loss and getting the win there. Everytime you think they might turn back into a Pumpkin, they find the resolve to push on. They can get that pack type mentality where they make the game more of a 1.5 vs 1 matchup vs just the Individual 1 on 1 when they put the ball in play and play really good defence. Hopefully they can find another clutch win tonight.

For better or worse the Jays had hopped on the mistake from Ohtani for Vlad’s HR and then had their big inning in the 7th. It was all that was required but they didn’t get much generated more than that. Hopefully that’s enough confidence though that they can do it again.
Yesavage on the road, the Jays have protected him to this point by having him at home all playoffs and as much as possible in the regular season. He seems unflappable but this is yet another test on the biggest stage in his super short career.

I think Trey rebounds. The Dodger lineup has big names but they can be pitched to. Needs his splitter tonight, though.
Go have a game, Trey. Bring your A game and the Jays will be in good shape to win tonight.
I can't even fathom going back to Toronto up 3-2, with two chances to win this thing at the RC.
Pinch me.

I do think this is why Bassitt has been saved, in case Trey needs some help with a couple innings.
I think the 18-inning game did more harm to the Dodgers than it did the Jays.

The term 'must win' is overused, but tonight's game is huge. Not just because whoever takes it goes up 3-2, but also because Yamamoto pitches in game 6.
If you're facing Yamamoto, down 3-2, and all the pressure is on your team, you're in tough shape. Conversely, if the Jays are up 3-2 and all the pressure is on the Dodgers, it's a very different situation, and the Jays would be playing it with house money, and could play more relaxed and more aggressive.
Win tonight, and I think they win in 6. Lose tonight, and they have a massive hill to climb.

Though the Jays lost game 3, I think it might have been a turning point in this series. That game depleted their bullpen which was already their greatest weakness (though they pitched great.
While the Dodgers may have won the battle in game 3, I actually think that game might have lost them the war.....
Don't take this as me saying the Blue Jays are going the cruise into a WS win. Far from it, I still think this series goes to 7 with the Jays winning it all in Canada in the SkyDome.

It can not be overstated how pivitol tonight's game is. I sadly won't be able to watch, have a work thing from 6-9 tonight, what timing.
The nerves are already percolating with every minute we get closer to gametime.

United States Viewership
In the U.S., the first two games registered 12.5 million viewers across FOX, FOX Deportes, Univision (Game One only), the FOX Sports App and FOX One, the second highest average this decade for the opening two games of the World Series. Game One averaged 13.3 million viewers and Game Two averaged 11.6 million
Canadian Viewership
Games One (7 million) and Two (6.6 million) were the two most-watched Blue Jays games ever on Sportsnet in Canada. The previous record was 6 million average viewers for Game Seven of the 2025 ALCS. The two World Series games combined to reach 15.9 million Canadians on Sportsnet. Game One was also the most-watched MLB game ever on TVA Sports, MLB’s French language television partner in Canada, with an audience of 502,000 average viewers. The two-game average in Canada across both rights holders is 7.2 million viewers with Game One averaging (7.5 million) and Game Two averaging (6.9 million).

I doubt we’ll get to Vancouver 2010 gold medal game numbers, even with the new ratings tracking that are producing higher numbers, but I could see games 6 or 7 hitting 10 million.
Halloween may put a bit of a dent in that though.
My sister lives in a neighborhood with tons of kids and is planning on putting a tv outside so parents walking by can watch lol.

I just have a vibe that the Jays will finally chase one of the Dodgers' starters early, like they did to Castillo and Fried. I guess tonight would be the best chance of that happening.

Has there been any word on how long Springer is out?

I know Rich Eisen suggested on his show today that he had heard Springer could conceivably play tonight.

Officially he is day-to-day. Yesterday he was more hour-to-hour as the Jays delayed announcing their lineup as long as possible in hopes Springer could play.
If he's not in the lineup tonight, there's still a chance he could be a pinch hit option

Jesus...dont these guys ever take a break?
And here I thought the NHL playoffs operated at a breakneck pace...this is madness! They may as well sleep in their uniforms!

When I'm a neutral fan watching baseball playoffs I absolutely love it.
I have discovered that I physically/emotionally/spritually do not enjoy this pace when the Jays are involved.

Of course because if you dont have a dog in the fight you dont care, theres sports on TV! Excellent!
But they're playing a game and then flying across North America and then doing it all over again. After their already insane regular schedule.

For sure. They are the oldest team in the MLB by almost a full year over the next team, so that's the price you pay. Having your catcher in for 18 innings in the middle of a 7 game series and at the end of a 170+ game grind....some were attacking Schneider for not leaving Kirk in, but it was the move.

I didn't originally like it, but it paid off for the game 4 win.
