I'm hoping that smiley is because that may be the WORST FRAKKING SONG IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY. Jesus H Christ if you actually like that I hope you don't reproduce, because it is so terrible that it makes Milli Vanilli look like musical geniuses.
Oh, and an awesome song that I haven't seen yet, first time I heard it I got chills
Easily my favourite song of all time.
Ah thank you Res! And you would absolutely love hanging out with them too. The first time I heard that song was live at a CBS records convention, in what was just a large hotel banquet room (Boca Resort and Club). Damn, talk about a bunch of people getting shivers up the spine. Not only were we hearing an awesome song, but we knew history was being made too. Holy fark.

Corey Glover and Vernon Reid are witches. UBER talented, as my son would say.

I'm a big King's X fan but this song from their last album was really the first song of theirs in a few albums that really did completely blow me away. No idea why, but I've absolutely loved it since the first time I heard it.

A couple from The Veils that blew me away the first time I heard them.
Excellent movie too, underrated.

This is the first song I was blown away by. I was 5. I distinctly remember hearing it for the first time and feeling an emotional and physical response. I had no idea, at the time, that the song was about a real shipwreck and maybe I didn't know what it was about at all. The music moved me, and frankly I think if I had never heard the lyrics I would believe today that the song was inspired by a shipwreck. It's fair to say, and my mother has noted this as well, that this song sparked my love for music.

Glycerin by Bush. Seven of us were driving to Super Bowl XXX in Phoenix in January of 1996. Around 4 or 5 am somewhere in Utah this song came on the radio when I was laying in the back of the van trying to get some sleep. It just seemed like a really cool song with the slow rhythm and deep, raw guitar. I really like that song and will probably have it played at my funeral.
Great choice, this is the first song that came to mind for me. "Disarm" by SP as well. A few more:
Gotta jump on the Matt Good bandwagon as well with my favorite of his:

There are a lot of songs that blew me away the first time I heard them, but this is the only one that gets me every time. It's about his father who passed away, so you should probably skip it if you're looking for something upbeat.
