I've listened to this disc about 10,000 times. If you haven't you're missing out big time.

Nice. I came back to this thread to post that...but you beat me to it.

To get the full effect, you really need to watch the episode this was featured in. Phenomenal.

Then in the series finale, AATW is featured again...equally phenomenal.

Oh, and an awesome song that I haven't seen yet, first time I heard it I got chills

Easily my favourite song of all time.
Ah thank you Res! And you would absolutely love hanging out with them too. The first time I heard that song was live at a CBS records convention, in what was just a large hotel banquet room (Boca Resort and Club). Damn, talk about a bunch of people getting shivers up the spine. Not only were we hearing an awesome song, but we knew history was being made too. Holy fark.

Devin Townsend - Nobody's Here

Not an actual Devin video, fan video to go with the song.

Hello, it's good to see you here
Come in, can I offer you a beer?
And they say this what it's like forever
...Roll this up, it's deadly...

To feel, feel like there's nobody here
...Feel like there's no more fear
I wanna feel like this for a year...
...Feel like there's nobody here...

To live, and lock yourself away
Relax, it dosen't matter anyway
Cause it's all a lie it's true
I think, i guess, i know, i think, i know...

off...

Why can't I remember?

I feel, feel like there's nobody here
...Feel like there's no more fear
I wanna feel like this for a year...
...Feel like there's nobody here..

Heroes, they take my breath away
Zero the dials
See how the breakdown breaks ground
And zeros the miles

I feel, feel like there's nobody here
...Feel like there's no more fear
Feel like this for a year...
...Feel like there's nobody here..

I feel, feel like there's nobody here...

Anyone ever heard Opeth's cover of Deep Purple's 'Soldier of Fortune'? It's simply amazing.

I'm a big King's X fan but this song from their last album was really the first song of theirs in a few albums that really did completely blow me away. No idea why, but I've absolutely loved it since the first time I heard it.

A couple from The Veils that blew me away the first time I heard them.

Excellent movie too, underrated.

This is the first song I was blown away by. I was 5. I distinctly remember hearing it for the first time and feeling an emotional and physical response. I had no idea, at the time, that the song was about a real shipwreck and maybe I didn't know what it was about at all. The music moved me, and frankly I think if I had never heard the lyrics I would believe today that the song was inspired by a shipwreck. It's fair to say, and my mother has noted this as well, that this song sparked my love for music.

Great choice, this is the first song that came to mind for me. "Disarm" by SP as well. A few more:

Gotta jump on the Matt Good bandwagon as well with my favorite of his:

not to nitpick, but as a die-hard it is my duty to point out that Louisiana Bayou is not a cover, it is an actual Dave Matthews Band tune.

There are a lot of songs that blew me away the first time I heard them, but this is the only one that gets me every time. It's about his father who passed away, so you should probably skip it if you're looking for something upbeat.
