If Sec214 was right about Treliving having gone to Bermuda, than he was relaxing in one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world. He's probably fresh and ready to go.

I like the guy as a person and for his work ethic, but let's not pretend that he isn't partly responsible for the mess we have on our hands now. He's a good hire for the Leafs, but it's not like he wasn't a year or two past his expiry date in Calgary. If he hasn't learned from some of his mistakes on the coaching hire front and poor UFA management/tactics, this isn't going to end well in Toronto either.

Even Conroy alluded to the fact BT operates with some very dated philosophies and was a big fan of veteran lineups. This is not something that changes overnight and is a huge problem in today's NHL.
BT wasn't perfect but he was also clearly held back by geography.

Like I said, not surprised in the least that he was instantly hired by another org, and one of the premier orgs in the league with much better resources, facilities also a much more attractive destination for players and coaches.

Tre made mistakes and it cost us in various ways but in general I liked his body of work and wish him well.

Hopefully Conroy embodies the good things about his mentor and can improve upon his areas of weakness.

I was born there. Yes it is very beautiful indeed.

Lindholm to the Leafs to play with his cousin!

Lets hope it's not Cliff Fletcher leaving the Flames for Toronto and then fleecing Doug Riseborough for Doug Gilmour all over again.

There were quite a few that also said he'd be out of work only as long as he wanted to be. One of those was me. I figured he'd be a GM somewhere next season with the caveat that he might just want a year off.

If Lindholm goes to the Leafs it will be a fleecing. Not really a need there.

They need a goalie. I wonder how much Treliving loves Markstrom.

There was not really a need in Florida to get rid of Huberdeau and get Tkachuk anyway but a bold change was needed. They say the same thing in Toronto with their core.

Lindholm doesn't sound like he wants to stay anyway and he has no chemistry with Huberdeau who we need to build around now due to the contract.

Lindholm isn't our Doug Gimour.

And they already have no cap and aren't good enough

happy for Tre, some Leafs fans here aren't too thrilled but i liked him and think he can do well in TO...

i also suggested a trade of Lindholm, Markstrom, Hanifin, and a 1st for a signed Matthews and was laughed at.

Marner for Tkachuk was also laughed at by Leaf fans

They will bring back the same team and then be stunned when they choke in the playoffs

Toronto is like Edmonton...media over hypes players to the point they can't be moved and are overpaid

I would move Markstrom straight across for Matt Murray.

A year at 4.7 for Murray? Sure. He has a 10 team NTC. But he might want to get away from Toronto and it's only a year in Calgary if he is reluctant. Markstrom's NMC might be tougher, but Treliving could say "look I said I was comitted to you and this proves it".

No but who does Lindholm replace on the Leafs? Treliving would only bite if it was stupidly low. Tkachuk replaced Huberdeau and was a player that typically doesn’t get traded. I wouldn’t be looking at the Leafs for a good return. Think the Canes would put up better.
