Last season and this season (100 ish games) the Flames are

4th CA60
5th SA60
3rd GA60

4th SCA60
4th HDCA60

They very definition of good defense.

That's shot volume, and pushing the pace offensively, but then not giving up the big chances against in counter both in quality nor in volume.

Yeah, that's not what I meant; we are not a defensive team per say especially when we are playing in the other teams end the majority of the time creating a shooting gallery.

He said "Sutter Hockey" which people confuse with some typing of trapping team or something. Like that idiot writer from Montreal last year saying the Flames are the most boring team. How about them Habs?

Yes, Sutter has distinguished defensive play from checking play before. If you watch them they try and harass the puck all over the ice and give no time and space. It shuts down shots without the chances even developing.

I suppose the downside is that it's aggressive and as a result if passes get through there's open ice somewhere.

Yeah, they are pretty aggressive all over the ice and not many teams send 2 guys deep like we do which you would think would be the opposite of what he wants.

Sutter 2.0 has coached a very entertaining brand of hockey not sure how anyone could call it boring, we don't trade chances because the majority of the time we are the one with the chances and the other team is defending.

The team's metrics remind me of the Bill Peters teams, but a much better team keeping pressure up and better defensive zone coverage.

OK misunderstood sorry.

Seemed like you were criticizing Sutter's system by saying the team isn't good at defense, they just pressure the puck up the ice and create shot volume.

Having the puck is defense, not giving up counter attacks of quality is defense.

I have lived and worked with many farm people and they aren't "hicks". you get more dickhead comments from city goofs that can't handle someone telling them something they need to hear. Your whole take in this thread is brutal.
