I fully expect (in my head) Treliving to trot out and say that Sutter deserves a full camp and season with the team. He deserves that much to assess what he has in the group etc etc.

Why? Hyman is a really good player, how dare they be interested!

Apologies, I keep forgetting this forum is more and and more a group think, "flames are the ideal franchise " circle jerk.
Maybe the decision makers are just as dumb as their records have shown for 30 years.
I'll play along if you want. Flames will decide they are decent enough and make some big swings, or they will rebuild.
No chance they are idiotic enough to go with basically the same roster/core as the last 3 seasons, right? Right??

Dude, I think the exact opposite of this. It is a circle jerk of hate around here.

Agreed. The kind of player Toronto can’t keep because they pay 3 guys over 10 million.
But the resulting appropriate valuation and term are challenging

I find it concerning the amount of people who have posted about rumour's like this and want people held accountable like said rumour already happened.

As a glass half full kinda guy I don't think anyone who is a serious fan of the flames thinks they are an "ideal" franchise. At best our record shows we are mediocre to lower average and I bet every serious fan is not happy with the last 30 years. If anything lately there has been a circle jerk of negative nancies who believe this is one of the worst run nhl franchises.

Again it’s pretty clear that’s not what this place is
And I don’t think anyone anyone has claimed the Flames are an ideal franchise
Not a single person
But personally I’m looking for actual debate and conversation. I don’t understand those that choose to post day after day hyperbolic complaints and over reaction.

If that same article appears after next weekend then yeah we have a genuine reason to complain. Going to be a fun week of rumors I would guess

Nothing in that article is news. Multiple teams are interested in Tkachuk? Flames are looking to make changes to their roster? Wow, you don't say. Outstanding journalism there, Bruce.

I think the news in there is that the Flames have been declared open for business. No one is safe and they are willing to move anyone. Feels like this is the first time it's been confirmed despite our own beliefs/wants but I could be wrong about that part.

It’s not news for members of cp, but you do realize that there is a whole lot of nhl fans out there that would find it news or gossip feeder. Not everyone follows the flames as hard as cp does.

Also, Pat Steinberg has been suggesting the Flames might not do much for the past little while.

Im just happy BT didnt make a deal just for the sake of it.
A bad deal is much worse than no deal.
After the expansion draft, WAY more options arise for all teams. Thats where he can make the best deal....period.

I also found it interesting that Garrioch, a Sens reporter, is noting this. My guess is Tre spent time yesterday dealing with the Sens or a Sens player's representation.

It is kind of both. You have the side that wants the team to succeed and have an optimistic outlook and then you have the side that may say they want the team to succeed but really they are only happy when the team fails so they can bitch and complain about it. They live for bad signings, bad seasons, bad draft picks, bad games, whatever can go wrong it is candy to them. The sad thing is these fans didn't start out like this, this organizations shortcomings over a long period of time have made them this way. They have adapted to enjoying bitching about everything that is wrong or can go wrong over actually cheering for the team to succeed. It is kinda sad.

Gio cap space for Hyman
Monahan trade for a replacement D.
Keep Ryan for 3rd/4th center.
Fill out the bottom 6 forwards with a mix of young flames system players and cheaper free agents. Sign a veteran backup for Markstrom.
Thinking that’s a pretty good turnover. If they are still in on Eichel use Tkachuk as trade collateral with another player added in to equalize salary. Kylington maybe.

The sens like the oilers are a rich dummy’s toy. The sens might be using garrioch as a mouthpiece. I personally would love to deal tkachuk to the sens for a hefty return.
Tkachuk and 12oal For Chabot 10oal and 39oal

Good that no deals were made. That essentially means there was nothing on the table for Brad to consider. Now we wait till after the exp draft when teams will have far more flexibility.
