Sure they aren't perfect, but they spend enough money to have a competitive team. We just need a management team that allocates that money wisely.

For sure, but all those numbers are based on $20mil/yr of a player that for all intents and purposes won't be adding anything in the next three years.
edit: This comment is only relevant to the fact that we're a "high spending" team. I certainly don't hold the trade against AA as I was gleeful when that and the Price trade happened.

I bought tickets for the game tomorrow for 20 bucks in the lower bowl (3rd base). White Sox on a Monday must be a tough sell in Toronto.

I think historically the second home series of the Jays season is one of the lowest sellers of the year, including their major up years. I seem to recall even in 2016 after the first playoff run they had a ridiculously low crowd in the second series that they didn't even come close to lowering to the rest of the year.

Sorry, I haven't watched a game yet only the highlights. What is on Kevin Pillar's left hand and why?
Edit. Got it. Sprained thumb.

He wore that last year as well so it still can't be sprained.. I think it's to protect his hand/fingers while running in case he slides into a base or something.

also that oven mitt he wears adds an extra few inches and can be the difference between being safe or being thrown out by a few winches.

It protects his fingers when he slides/dives - quite a few guys a cross baseball wear them... needs to be approved by commissioners office to wear anything like that ...

Time for the offense to get going here.
Wasting a gem from the 5th starter.

Disappointing, but that was a heck of a double play. Half the time that ball gets through and the game is tied.

No matter how this game unfolds, the most encouraging thing was Garcia's line.
Once through the rotation and they've all been pretty good.
