What a win!

Great job by the bullpen to keep the Jays in striking distance.

What a pick up Oh might end up being.

So, this whole offseason was about raising the floor of the team.

Yesterday we had Solarte hit the game winning HR.
Today we had Diaz with a clutch double, and scored on Smoak's grand slam.
Oh closed it out.

Last year, that's Barney, Goins, and Grilli.

This is why those moves were so big.

Yeah, some shrewd moves. I have faith that Atkins/Shapiro have a solid long term plan to make this team better.

Not to even mention Axford and Clippard who each pitched well to keep it close. Relievers are tough to find the sweet spot on, but this series was a good start to the season for the bullpen.

I watched the first two games and missed the last two. That doesn’t bode well for me watching Jays games this season. First time they’ve been .500 since 2016. Nice to see them battle back!

Best start for the bullpen we’ve had for numerous years. Bullpen has killed us to start the season each of the past 3 years.

Unfortunate that Tulo is basically $54 million of dead money for the next 3 seasons.

Sorry, not trying to be a Debbie downer. It just hamstrings the club financially a bit, which limits the moves that can be made. That’s all I was getting at. If you cheer for the Yankees or Dodgers, you don’t really care about stuff like this, but Rogers are not as willing to spend like drunken sailors.

Jays have the 8th highest payroll right now and are only $14 million from 3rd. (and are $24 million above the league average).

Sure they aren't perfect, but they spend enough money to have a competitive team. We just need a management team that allocates that money wisely.

I still think back to all our bewilderment at the Smoak contract extension haha.

Best part is they have a club option to pick him up for a 3rd year @ $6 million.

Hopefully this FO hits more homeruns like that and less whiffs like the Morales deal.

Pillar off to another hot start. Hopefully he can keep this approach when he has a slump and doesn't revert back to the Pillar of old. Keep himself from falling completely off the cliff this season.

No need to apologize it was a silly comment on my part. You’re 100% right.
