No trades! Especially Hamilton or Brodie, see how they do under a new coach first. I do not want a repeat of January 31, 2010.

Your absolutely right. Would be nice to see some edge to theae guys. I think that has to do with our lack of playoff success

Defense is the least of the team issues. They’ve been very solid this last few weeks. Brodie with a good jump up, just took too long to fire away.

Hamonic, Stone, Kulak, even Hamilton has reduced his dumb lazy plays a fair bit. Bart was good today. All playing physical, all getting the puck out, moving it well on the PP, not messing around.

Gio never has taken a night off and is giving it his all out there.

It’s the forwards running hot and cold and if you can’t score more than 2 goals most night in this league you aren’t going to win, and you’re putting more pressure on your team defense.

I hate piling on after a loss.... But!
Good efforts, bad refs, goalies stoning us, moral victories and bad puck luck no longer cut it. We need an organizational change, not line juggling.

I say bring on Sutter!

Pretty evident that Gulutzan spent more pregame time preparing his hair than preparing the team

Watch sam bennett next game and count how many turnovers he has. Especially in the offensive zone. Also count how many times brodie does that stupid bounce pass off the boards and our forwarda tip it in. Skilled teams score off the rush, offensively skilled lacking teams dump and chase and thats all we ever do

I would look at trading a couple of them if this season doesn't turn around. They all have high value.

I dont even think a new coach would help. Im not convinced we have the on ice personnel to be a stanleu cup contending team yet alone a playoff contending team. Tear it down and rebuild yet again

Same. The only ace in the hole treliving has is to make some blockbuster hockey deals. IMO

And enough with the Hartley stuff. He’s not coming back and his methods and contempt for players meant his message had a super short lifespan.

Yes, the team needs more of a task master, and yes his act worked for a season, it also wore out after that season while having an undesired effect on others along the way before the playoff run, when the former GM desperately brought him in, and, after the playoff run too, outside of the guys his message got lost on.

There’s a reason his name isn’t mentioned for any openings since leaving here.

A guy like Sutter or Tippett have proven sustained success with their methods as they pick their spots as to when to push buttons and otherwise treat the players with respect as professionals.

“That stupid bounce pass off the boards” is exactly what GG wants. He does not want the D to carry the play or even join the play.

If you think Brodie is the only one that does this then you are missing most of the game. But Brodie is the new Wideman to CP.

GG is trying to make plow horses out of thorobreds and we are seeing the results..

Only saw the final five minutes, but learning that they went 0/3 on the PowerPlay (and that the Ducks won with a PP goal) is not surprising. This same storyline could be predicted for most Flames losses.

Losing Kris Versteeg is not an excuse for the terrible PP. Cassie Campbell referenced this and said the team was 5/some-ungodly-number since his injury. If your PP relied on KRIS VERSTEEG to that degree, then that alone is a fireable offence.

The PK is a hot mess, with guys scrambling all over the place. Even the Oilers' PK looked strong against the Jets the other night.

You have to think that the coaches are on the hot seat at this point. What is most frustrating is that GG particularly was brought in because he was a "young-player-whisperer" or whatever. So, when does the whispering actually begin?

To some degree, yes. But Brodie is also struggling in a very painful way.

3 on 2 shorthanded and he gets the pass in the slot with a great chance to take a shot with 2 Flames crashing the net. Instead he tries to take the puck wide for some reason? Loses the puck and we get nothing out of a great opportunity.

He still does so many things really well, but decision making is one of his deficiencies this season.

I wonder what Jagr is thinking now. A big part of him choosing to join the Flames is because of GG. I wonder what he sees and what we didn't see in the coach.

The optics are very obvious that the system doesn't work and most players underachieved. I really can't care about the possession numbers in the last 15 games or so.

They seem like smart people with good ideas, but so far the good ideas haven't translated to on-ice results.
