If the refs have that thin of a skin then they should be fired. I'm sorry but the gesturing really means nothing when its legitimate complaints.

It was different with the Canucks when the refs were tuning them out in the finals because they were diving all over the ice and then glaring at the refs to get a call.

JG has been getting legitimately abused for nearly 2 seasons now.

If this is anything to do with the Wideman issue and the refs are upset at this still then the NHL head of officiating needs to be fired because it means that they're basically rigging games to satisfy themselves.

Right now in the next game, I'm telling someone to spear Staal in the sack and then break his teeth on the way down.

But I'm sure that I'll cool off.

But I really think at some point, if its not Treliving its Burke needs to rain cleansing fire down on the NHL office publicly.

Also this needs to be a very ill tempered team tonight. I have no hope of some kind of miracle rally for Johnny starting tonight, I don't think this team has the leadership or character. But honestly the Flames need to come out and be abrasive and vicious and not care about taking penalties. I know we are playing the Yotes and not the wild, but there has to be a message sent that this team isn't going to sit back and take this BS.

Except the part where McDavid draws more penalties.

Minor penalties drawn per 60 mins:

Gaudreau 2.04
McDavid 1.82

I've about had it with this league.

They say they want to increase scoring, well one of the top scorers in the league is out for probably weeks now because the refs won't call simple slashing penalties. Maybe if they wouldn't let dozens and dozens of slashes go uncalled other teams players would stop ####ing slashing the leagues stars!

Its on the Flames Players to stick up for their teammate and send a message to the league that, that type of infraction on our star player will not be tolerated.

I hope that there is a big target on Eric Stall & Suter the next time the Flames play the Wild. Call up Hunter Smith or sign some other Plug that can fight and take a run at their best players.

Why? If someone got pounded in the face or had their leg chopped with a firm slash, the slashing against Johnny would have likely subsided.

No it's on the officials to call the game by the rules. Policing in the NHL does not work anymore because it more than not results in instigating penalties. Does anyone think that Eric Stahl was thinking about physical repercussions during the heat of the moment when he slashed Johnny? Of course not but if he knew it would land him two minutes in the penalty box it sure might have.

Not only could this rally the Flames, but could this rally the fans too? i mean, I hate for us to all come together because JG got hurt, but as a fan base, we certainly have something that should bring us together and that hatred for officials and the Minny Wild?

It's not about throwing some plug out there to take a suspension, that's neanderthal hockey.

It's about applying the same standard to your game as the opposition is to theirs.

If the Wild are going to slash the teams best players and get away with it, the Flames, AS A GROUP, need to recognize they are at a disadvantage if they aren't pushing the envelope in the same way.

It's not about McGrattan or Oliwa, it's about Kulak and Hamilton and Backlund and Brouwer and Monahan and Giordano.

If stick work isn't going to be called and you aren't taking advantage of that, that's on you, not the refs.

Staal and Suter aren't goons. If they are going to slash their way through a game then you'd better be ready to slash your way through with them.

Force the league to do something or not, but at least play up the competitive level of the team you're playing.

Woeful on-ice leadership in this department.

Well if he said that I'm a top 1%er CEO of a Fortune 500 company making 7 figures and I am worried I'm not getting full value for my game center subscription, he probably wouldn't get much sympathy.

Saying he's a soldier in the CF might get him somewhere.
