It was a totally BS call. An absolute gift.

The Stars are now the biggest Blackhawks fans.

After tomorrow, Flames playoff odds could be as low as 35.8% and could be as high as 70.5%. Huge day tomorrow. Hoping for Flames and Hawks wins.

Rarely are penalties about intent because it's too difficult to assess.
The reason they base it on that is that, if you break another player's stick, you essentially take him out of the play. In other words, it's basically the same thing as interference.
However, if the stick isn't broken, then the player has simply dropped it. The last thing you want is to create a situation where players start dropping their sticks trying to get a penalty call. Worse than diving.
The rule is good. The call was horrid.

That saddens me. That's a tough pace this time of year.

2 games vs. Edmonton/Arizona that need to be wins.
After those games, we effectively have to go 3-2 Vs. Nashville, Dallas, St. Louis, LA and Winnipeg.
...this'll be a tough finish.

Another gut wrenching OOT, wow! I need more oxygen and valium. The Wild do their magic and beat the Kings 4-1. Sutter pulled his starting goalie in QUICK fashion after letting in 2 goals on 9 shots. Dubnyk does his voodoo again as he faces 17 shots in the 2nd period. Koivu and Neiderriter each score 2 goals for the Wild and the win puts them ahead of the Bhawks. The Avs take care of the Sabres 5-3 and Iggy has 2 assists in the win which keeps their faint playoff hopes alive. Another LOL to the Canucks who just can't beat non playoff teams. It shows that Eddie does LACK the experience in the stretch run. Jamie Benn comes back to BC and scores, Stars win a 4-3 thriller in OT with some questionable officiating. The Senators blow a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period as the Leafs came back to win 4-3 in OT, that was a big loss. The Panthers also suffer the OT loss to the Habs 3-2. Pacioretty with the GWG on the PP. The BJs are road warriors winning their 8th road win in a row as they beat the Blues 4-2. It was also their 6th straight win as the BJs now have their regular lineup healthy again.

I turned the Vancouver game off last night after their first pp goal (where Burrows got away with driving the dman into the goalie). I just couldn't bring myself to watch anymore. Good to see they only got one point.

Given the two you mentioned (Oilers & Arizona), Flames win the bolded ones and they are in IMO.
