Honestly no it is a pretty baseless and completely speculative opinion but I chalk up my opinion to basically what you alluded to. A much higher frequency of floating around not giving a fata shifts when he was in the line up this season, which coincides with following the captaincy decision in the offseason.

Totally just my impression and he seems like that type of guy based on how he seems pouty sometimes.

Good hockey player if he works hard though.

For the record, I have always liked St Louis, going back to his days with the Flames, and these recent events haven't changed that, because I like him as a player (never met him in person). But I remember seeing him in tears after TBay lost the ECF to Boston a few years ago, and thinking how much he wanted to win and that it was admirable. Would be something if Tampa went to the Finals this year, eh?

St Louis had a chance to clear the air and shed a bit of light to what happened in an interview with Ron Maclean just now but was pretty vague and didn't really say much, besides that he wanted his kids to play hockey in a better hockey town.

Ron let him off the hook big time with that interview though and patronized him big time at the end.

Also, Elliotte Friedman can't stand Glenn Healy and it's not hard to see. Friedman's fed up with Healy's shtick.
