FWIW this is what I would do if it happened to my kid. Great advice.
You shouldn't have to be suffering through this.

I think Indes is in BC IIRC.
Was this after school? My wife does before and after school
Care and the school definitely bows out of things that fall under that. She was in bc for a year and things are totally different there, so I have nothing to add.
A good rule of thumb though with government beurocrats is the one thing they are most afraid of is extra work.

Meh, it’s a temporary problem. My doctor does many phone appointments and uses various numbers. When we have a meeting booked I answer calls, then return to ignoring them afterward.

Most gear grinders are temporary! I just hate that I'm "supporting" cold calls because I picked up.
If everyone ignored every unknown number we wouldn't have the issue. Though I suppose that would be the end of plumber (and doctor) visits.

Escalate. Find out your district supervisor for that school. Email the principal, your CBE Trustee rep, the Area Office for your school, and the Superintendent. See the links below.
Send one detailed email and cc all of them. Set out the history with this child, the request to remove your child, any past incidences, and as much detail about this incident as possible and the source of the info. DO NOT BE EMOTIONAL or AGGRESSIVE. Be factual. State your concerns in as much detail and dispassionately as possible. Request a written response by the end of the week.
ie.
1. We are concerned that the ongoing bullying is not being taken seriously and acted upon in a manner consistent with the school and CBE policies and meeting the school's in loco parentis responsibility to the child.
2. Concerned that legitimate and documented actions have not been acted upon.
3. Lack of proper supervision of an inherently dangerous activity resulted in a serious injury.
4. Lack of appropriate medical care at the time of the incident endangered the child.
5. Failure to ensure the child was safe and medically able to take transportation independently.
6. Failure to notify parents promptly, or at all, regarding a serious head injury resulting in observable symptoms.

Thank you for this! My wife managed to get a meeting with the principal on Thursday so our current plan is to gather our thoughts, these notes will help and then depending how the meeting goes - go to the school board.
At this point our goal is to just have him move schools. I don't see a path forward where he's going to be around this other kid at school, on the playground and on the bus. Enough is enough

I’ll give your kid $500 if he cracks the kid in the face just before he leaves.

Perfect, I'll match it haha - if there's a PS5 in it for him he might actually do it.
Unfortunately, despite being probably 4" taller and 20lbs heavier than the little ####head my son doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body.
Nothing would make me happier than that phone call from the school lol.

He could subcontract to another kid? Learn some business skills along the way. Haha.
My Bodyguard was one of my favorite movies.
Bully kids chafe me like nothing else. Not just a dick kid or targeting?
My wife who does school care for a school that has all the demographics and the toughest kids usually have some seriously fataed up stuff going on.

my wife is a teacher.
every year there are idiot kids in her class - and every year at parent teacher interviews she immediately figures out why the kid is an idiot

This was in outdoor class at the end of the day so instead of taking my son to the office to get looked at the teacher just asked if he thought he could take the bus. By the time he got home he had short term memory loss, couldn't control his emotions and was a complete space cadet.
My wife and I are absolutely livid that he got sent home that day and the school is downplaying it as "not a big deal" and "they'll deal with it" and are just giving us the run around with platitudes, principal isn't able to make any time to meet with us and yada yada. We've complained about this kid before and we already put in the request to move schools next year, before this incident, because of this ####ing kid. For all the bullying rhetoric we hear throughout the year you would think there would be some avenues for my kid to be able to be safe at school.
Complete joke.

We had an issue with a bully in my son's class that the school wasn't dealing with. We completed the CBE complaints process here: https://cbe.ab.ca/about-us/contact-u.../concerns.aspx
While it took a bunch of time (and they consistently responded the very last day they were allowed to and then insisted we respond within 24 hours) we did end up getting a written guarantee that my son would never be in his class again.
If you're in a different board I would imagine they'd have a similar process.
I agree with @titan that remaining calm and factual is the best way (which can be difficult when its your kids safety at stake). But I think following their specific process made it harder for it to get swept under the rug any more, because there were documentation requirements for them.

|
Ah, I could see that. The Nissan my in-laws drive works fine overall, but intermittently gets weird. I've had smart screens do the same in the past where all the devices are basically fighting each other for pole position.
I don't know which thread it was, but this one popped up for work calls for a situation you don't want to or cannot pair to the vehicle:
https://www.amazon.ca/Bluetooth-Car-...%2C151&sr=8-11
At least it's an option if you still want a solution for wireless calls for the work phone. I've seen realtors use devices like this, I assume because it allows them to continue a conversation away from the vehicle if needed.

I'm pretty surprised at the amount of bullying going on. I thought overall we improved on bullying as a society. My son has seen some fights at school but bullying hasn't at all been very common, maybe being in a smaller town makes a difference?
