The GUI of cars is designed by syphilitic monkeys hopped up on Benylin and I hope they all die. I have two phones. IYKYK. When I start my truck, my work phone connects for some reason. When I get in, I need to switch to my phone.
- Menu
-Phones
- Select connected phone
- Select Titan2 personal phone
- wait an inordinately long time
- get informed it is connected
- Hit Back to get to the main display screen
- Hit back again
- Hit Back again.
- finally, arrive at the main screen.
WTF? One of the most common functions is connecting a phone. How about an icon with each connected device on the main screen? Push the device you want once. It connects and goes back to the main screen.
1 phone people that only drive in their own car will not feel this pain. I know there are solutions here, and I don't need suggestions—just RGMMFG.

Easy solution, buy a 2nd truck.
Toddlers and their damn tendency to put everything in their mouth. My kid, and by association, myself, seem to get sick around once a month for a few days or so. Before he was around it was sniffles and a cough maybe once a year, now I get a full GI flush every few weeks.

Make your personal phone the primary one? That’s all you’d have to do in my vehicle.
Though I find the idea of running a personal and work phone to be dumb.

I did it because Penn west required blackberrys and also stole my phone number from me. It’s usually when the company assigned phone is way older and a total piece of crap. Now they just pay $85 a month and it’s easy to have just the one.
Also get to be a friend with the IT guy. He showed
Me how easy it was to see what people are doing on their phone real time. I was like WOW and you would never know it.

But one of the main reasons companies are pushing back to the office is they don’t know how to measure productivity. If people are slacking, it should be evident regardless of whether they’re working at the office or at home. And if they are, then deal with it.
If the only way management be reassure themselves that people are doing their jobs is to plant them at a desk under their watchful eye 40 hours a week, then the company has a lot bigger problems than its WFH policy.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I think a big thing as well is the technological innovations at certain companies. I have pretty much done hybrid at the last 3 employers i have had, and only my current employer has really embraced the WFH position with actual tech support and innovation.
Bad WFH environments exist when the companies (like you said) don't measure output or KPIs; or just don't know what people are needed and where. But they also fail when they don't actually invest in WFH
So many companies say, oh yes we do "WFH" to attract people, but make it so hard on everyone to actually utilize it.

Invest in WFH? I mean you should be running WPA3 at least, WPA2 has been cracked wide open. Wired is preferable. Stateful firewall, dedicated hardware VPN that cannot be configured by the employee or remotely. MDM on all mobile devices, business sim, no USB keys allowed, anything printed needs to be shredded according to NSA standards. Laptops need to be encrypted, immutable backups. All data cables should be sole sourced.
Yeah I'm sure you're all doing that.

What manufacturer GUI is this? Seems like an inexplicable amount of steps, and as others have said, there perhaps should be a primary/secondary phone option.
I didn't have this level of issues for multiple phones when getting into Honda, Nissan, Toyota and BMW. 2-3 quick taps for "change device" and "select device" and it's done. Usually this happens when my wife and I get into the same vehicle, but I don't have to put in the Contra code to swap phones like you do. I'd be pissed off if that happened to me too.

LOL. I get this from the perspective of IT when I was dealing with it too... but not.
Like a training manual with functional policies and procedures for WFH. Like, no manager should be messaging at 9-10PM demanding things be done for a 8-9AM meeting and other "obvious" things that seemingly aren't obvious at all for many people.

It sounds like Toyota. It doesn’t seem to reliably switch over between phones. Will have to go into bluetooth settings and pick the phone to connect it.

I don't mean that, specifically. I mean proper document management systems, tasking procedures/systems, etc.
So many companies and employees still run off desktop folders or random drives. Many team projects are coordinated through Teams or emails back and forth, which is a pain and cumbersome.
There is countless software out there that makes remote work viable and successful - and can be amended to suit a company's needs, that companies just arent investing in.

My 9yr old son was pushed off a climbing wall in the playground at school last week. He fell from about 6' up and hit his head on one of those floating plastic step things and ended up with a concussion, very lucky he didn't break his neck. This was in outdoor class at the end of the day so instead of taking my son to the office to get looked at the teacher just asked if he thought he could take the bus. By the time he got home he had short term memory loss, couldn't control his emotions and was a complete space cadet.
My wife and I are absolutely livid that he got sent home that day and the school is downplaying it as "not a big deal" and "they'll deal with it" and are just giving us the run around with platitudes, principal isn't able to make any time to meet with us and yada yada. We've complained about this kid before and we already put in the request to move schools next year, before this incident, because of this ####ing kid. For all the bullying rhetoric we hear throughout the year you would think there would be some avenues for my kid to be able to be safe at school.
Complete joke.

Make a claim against the school for compensation for you son's injuries.
I hope your boy heals up.

When you are waiting on a tradesperson to come by (in my case plumber) and so are obligated to answer unknown cell phone numbers (who might be the plumber).
And it's not the plumber. It's some f-ing call center.

This really pisses me off. If you choose to follow the advice below, feel free to send me a draft, and I will have a look for you. Or draft it and have ChatGPT take a cut. If you don't have access, I will do it for you.
Escalate. Find out your district supervisor for that school. Email the principal, your CBE Trustee rep, the Area Office for your school, and the Superintendent. See the links below.
Send one detailed email and cc all of them. Set out the history with this child, the request to remove your child, any past incidences, and as much detail about this incident as possible and the source of the info. DO NOT BE EMOTIONAL or AGGRESSIVE. Be factual. State your concerns in as much detail and dispassionately as possible. Request a written response by the end of the week.
ie.
1. We are concerned that the ongoing bullying is not being taken seriously and acted upon in a manner consistent with the school and CBE policies and meeting the school's in loco parentis responsibility to the child.
2. Concerned that legitimate and documented actions have not been acted upon.
3. Lack of proper supervision of an inherently dangerous activity resulted in a serious injury.
4. Lack of appropriate medical care at the time of the incident endangered the child.
5. Failure to ensure the child was safe and medically able to take transportation independently.
6. Failure to notify parents promptly, or at all, regarding a serious head injury resulting in observable symptoms.

Garbage Nissan.
I have two phones so work can monitor activity on the work phone. I deleted my work phone from the truck so it won't connect but I should not have to do that.
Surprisingly, my wife's Lexus (Toyota), which is 7 years newer, also has similar issues around phone connections. You would think in 2024, they would be able to figure this out.
