Yeah, bottoming out like that would be better than just barely missing the playoffs.

The NHL has set it up so that being just moderately bad is worse than being terrible.

Wonder how Weegar's acquisition affects the Kylington negotiations. Seems like, without any hyperbole at all, it goes from:

Kylington's agent: "Do you really want to risk an arbitration case and have to explain why you yet again couldn't sign a young core player and why everyone want to leave the Flames under your management?"

to

Treliving: "I'm sorry it's been hectic here. Before we continue can remind me again which bottom pairing defenseman you represent just one more time? You might have the wrong number because I don't think we have any defenseman who start with an S-H"

Honest question, what has he done that is so bad and gross that he has to be held accountable? Did he rape and abuse some one? Did he drive drunk and killed or injured some one. As far as I know, he spewed some political views that you don't agree with. I guess freedom of speech really isn't free, eh?

Lindholm and Huberdeau dropped to 59 points lol

Well, if that happened we'd be sellers at the deadline and probably have a minimum of three 1sts in the 2023 draft, including a legit shot at Bedard and most likely be picking top 3.

Not anymore. NTC carry. That was the whole problem with the Dadonov to Anaheim situation.

What do rape and drunk driving have to do with it? Are those the only possible actions that can make someone undeserving of a retired number?

He’s repeatedly posted dangerous and hateful messages on social media and as an influential public figure he can and will pay the price via public opinion.

Also, that’s not what free speech means. He’s allowed to say it and deal with the consequences. That’s how free speech works. He says his thing, others say theirs.

I love hockey sims but NHL 22 is horrible for that. I took over Seattle, redid the expansion draft and took all scrubs to try and build through the draft and we made the playoffs finishing 2nd in the Pacific. I have not touched it since

Just today he was praising Pastor Artur Pawlowski. Pawlowski is a famous bigot. He preaches that the most expensive natural disaster to hit Calgary (and at the time Canada) was because of Calgary's support of the LGBTQ+ community so the 2013 flood was God's judgment. Pawowski is a supporter of the very vocal racist, and Calgary mayor-elect, Kevin J. Johnston.

So when Fleury's praising bigots like that, I think it's time to move on. Not retiring his jersey doesn't mean free speech doesn't exist.

Theo deserves to have his number forfeited just for the "millions of convoyers" comment on American TV.

Absolute ####ing buffoon.

He's been aggressively offside on so many things I've lost count.

I am not saying retire his jersey into the rafters, I am saying there are a lot better choices for players coming in to choose over #14. It doesn't matter what his ridiculous views are, most fans are going to remember what he did on the ice. I would rather Huberdeau pick his own number to build a legacy on instead of competing with a former team hero

Jonathan Huberdeau should wear #50 because he's gonna score 50 goals every single game.

He should wear 98, one notch above McDavid.

I think this is a solid deal for the Flames. If you want to avoid rebuilding this is the exact type of move you make. Pretty shocked this move was available to the Flames but I think they must sign both Huberdeau and Weeger to solidify this deal. Losing our top 2 superstars sucks but it is nice they were able to add another. Looking online this seems to be received as a win for Calgary which is nice to see

If Huberdeau asks to wear number 97 he’ll officially become my all time favourite flame

Finally—a reasonable take!

The Superleagues contingent on Calgarypuck is larger than I ever realized.
