Tom Kostopolous is the name that makes the most sense as a comparable. Someone that can put up 20-25 points while playing a good two way role on the 3rd/4th line.
I see him as more of a Sutter - specifically, I think his upside is that of a Brent Sutter...
not flashy, but does all the little things well and can make plays when the opportunity presents itself. A slid, two-way guy that is good on the PK and takes a quality regular shift
Trevor Gillies will be in the lineup tonight. It'll be interesting to see who's the healthy scratch in his place, especially after a game where damn near everyone played a perfect game.
It had better not be Hanowski! I know he's struggling but to sit him in place of some meat head goon that's probably going to injure someone, not exactly a great trade off.

and plays bigger than he is
Brent Sutter had a 100 point season, I know it was the 80's but that's more like a 70 point year now. He also had 6 years of 25 goals.
It is possible that even Sven might not have that level of offensive ability in him.

I hate that Calgary calls these guys up and then plays them on the 4th line. I mean seriously, look at that shot from Jones on the PP. The Flames are sorely lacking that threat since Iginla was moved, why not give Jones 1st line PP time and see how he does?
Fantastic game all around, not much not to enjoy about that one.
Jones saw better minutes with the Flames in the past and did nothing offensively. At the NHL level he is nothing more than a 4th liner, but at the AHL level he is a very good power forward. The AHL is full of guys like him.
