since Hawkeye is a simulation with a defined margin of error, it's probably never going to be accepted on clay. but the Foxtenn system with the bounce replay doesn't fix everything either, because at super shallow angles the ball can just barely graze the court before impact and not leave a mark until later in its trajectory. so you'll end up with the system disagreeing with the marks that players and umps know and love, and mass hysteria will ensue.
the only way for Foxtenn to be used on clay is if they just declare that marks are not valid for line calling under any circumstances. that is going to be a tough sell.

The thing I don't get though is clearly the tourney organizers are okay with the FoxTenn system for the tourney this year in Barcelona, but they appear to have only ponied up the dollars for certain courts as evidenced by it being available for use on the Tsitsipas - Alcaraz match, but not being available for the Felix - Diego match. I guess what I'm saying is if you're going to have electronic line calling or a challenge system available, then you should make it available for all courts at your tournament. Felix usually doesn't raise a stink about line calls which makes me think he thought the ball was out and when I first saw the shot, I thought it was wide as well. Maybe it doesn't make a whit of difference and Diego goes on to victory, but it was a crucial point at a crucial time in the match.

young Rafa was already muscle-bound, but at least still sort of resembled a teenager. Carlos looks 30 years old and grew a five o'clock shadow in between matches today.

We are going hear this a lot over the next decade. His serve will only get better as he ages as it’s pretty rare to see a player this young, far before his prime already with little if any weaknesses. Such a well rounded player that already has the mental strength of a veteran champion.

Alcaraz vs. De Minaur is starting shortly in Barcelona.
Edit: Looks like a TSN stream is showing PCB vs. Diego - This is where the Tennis Tv subscription comes in handy.

Meanwhile, Rublev and Djokovic have just started the 3rd set of the championship final in Belgrade and in Barcelona, it will be PCB vs. Carlos for the title.
Edit: The PCB - Carlos match will start at approximately 9:30 Mountain time.

So my question is how is Djokovic going to win the French Open when he's running out of gas at the start of a 3rd set against Rublev?
Edit: Rublev delivers a bagel in set 3 to win the Serbia Open. 6-2 6-7 6-0 over Novak.

In a stunning move, the French Open has banned all Spanish players from competing

Pretty good week for 15 year old Victoria Mboko as she made it all the way to the final of an ITF event in Tunisia and took a set from Lin Zhu (WTA ranking of #106).
