Let's hope NJ wins 5-4 in OT their next two games, making it more likely they can make a push but clear they need a goalie.
Obviously dependent on the actual players involved but that return would be very reasonable in my mind for Markstrom

Jersey, Carolina and LA all have players under 23 that could be available and have legitimate upside. I think that it might be less about worrying about a good return, and more about whether markstrom gets moved at all, or his value as a mentor to wolf exceeds what is being offered.
I like Connie's work so far.

Ouch. That would have been quite the hall for Markstrom. Hopefully fitz calms down. I think I have heard of other GMs getting pissy and backing out of deals if you continue to shop player to other teams. Can’t remember who ? Lou?

Sec, any idea if the deal with NJD is completely dead or if they're just throwing a fit?

You don’t just take whatever is offered. Even if you love the offer, you’re not doing your job if you don’t go out and see if you can do better.
If that hurt New Jersey feelings well maybe they need to make a change. Hurt feelings isn’t how you operate.

Thanks again Sec. if it’s as many as 8 teams, we can narrow it down to the teams that need goaltending. That could include the following IMO:
Devils
Kings
Hurricanes
Avalanche
Flyers
Leafs
Senators
Oilers
I doubt the Sens or the Oilers have a real chance of getting him. Flames would likely not want to trade Markstrom to the oilers and I doubt Markstrom would waive to go to the Sens.

With their sub-par goalie injured they are only hurting themselves, if they are being hard headed. Isn't it possible Conroy just hasn't circled back yet?

It’s a shame it didn’t go through, that sounds like a good haul, plus more cap space to weaponize.

Thanks.
That sounds like quite a bit, but of course could vary greatly depending on which roster player and prospect.
If it was Mercer and Casey it's a homerun IMO
If it was Seigenthaler and Clarke then that's a big old "meh"
I certainly wouldn't question Craig going back to other suitors if that second return was NJ's best offer.

With Tampa involved, it looks like Conroy isn't set on a first, but would consider prospect capital as well. Best option could be Tampa, when the smoke clears, if they drain their entire pool.

Hopefully this doesn’t affect Markstrom game going forward. Guy had probably already told his family that they were moving to jersey.

Not much of his prime left though.I understand that some goalies can have great careers into thier late 30s and Markstom seems to really take care of himself but still.
Any idea on the caliber of roster player and prospect that was involved ?
