Well she was like that in the first two seasons, it was only after living the nightmare for nine months that she cut the apron strings (as I can remember it anyway). At a certain point both Carl and her would have to adapt.

I think that the sheer numbers of people who hated her character meant that the producers were doing their job and stirring up emotions in people. It's easy to be meh about a character like T-Dawg who didn't really do or say much (until this week's episode), but to stir up emotion (whether it's love or hatred) is the key.
I actually started to feel sorry for Lori this season. I thought she was mean to Rick in Season 2, but it seemed to have flipped around for Season 3. Rick was being a real ######bag to her this season. The scene where they were standing on that +15 walkway and she says "I thought you came out here to talk about us" and Rick says "You did a good thing with Herschel" was heartbreaking to me. I could really see the emotion on her face, and in contrast, the lack of emotion on Rick's face. She seemed like she really wanted to re-connect with her husband.
And now she's gone. How do you like that now Rickster?

I had a feeling that T was on his way out when they gave him more than one line in the episode.. also I had no idea the guy playing Rick was English, lol.
Good episode.

The actor that plays Maggie also sounds quite different, kind of British/Aussie. Listened to them both on the Nerdist podcast

She was born in America then moved to the UK in her teens. Her accent is a weird hybrid of both at times, pretty funny to listen to.

I think it's because she was a complete moron in season 2

Andrew Lincoln (aka Rick) was recently on Chris Hardwick's Nerdist podcast - check it out, it was really good & completely strange to hear him speaking with his normal voice.

It was a bit like hearing Hugh Laurie from House speaking naturally. You would kind of imagine that after somebody is able to speak without an accent, they would just continue on that way without effort.

If I recall my comic spoilers correctly, the story behind the phone call is pretty awesome
Great episode tonight; a good story progression episode. Can't wait for next week!

I should not have been as excited as I was when the phone started ringing.

This will not be a popular sentiment, but I think I enjoyed the barn season more than this one.
I like this show because of the moral crossroads that the characters find themselves in and I feel there was a lot more of that in S2. Not having Shane around anymore has hurt what I liked best about the show. There's still plenty to chew on this season, but I found the dillemas of last season far more intriguing.
Also, they've probably had double the amount of kills this season than all of last season, minus the finale and that may be good for some, it can get tiresome to me.
The Michonne/Governor stuff isn't interesting to me as well.
just my two cents.

Did anybody who watched the preview for next week catch what Rick said on the phone? I must have rewound it 5 times and still couldn't hear it.
If you did, maybe put it in a spoiler- as some people prefer not to see any previews.

so just to clear things up, Carl did not shoot his mother and zombie Laurie was who Rick went all stabby on? i think that's what it was supposed to be, but the zombie looked nothing like Laurie and i don't think she'd decay that fast. that whole scene confused the hell out of me
but the phone ringing was awesome
