Here's a question for the mob. I actually don't have much hatred for Lori. Did I like her? Not particularly. But there just seems to be a level of hate for her that I don't quite understand. Was it her acting, or her character? I thought the acting was fine. She seemed to play the good hearted person who made poor choices thing just fine. Seems to me if people hated her character because of the choices she made as written in the script, then she played her role well.

I have nothing against the actress or Lori in general, but she is a terrible mother.
If it was my wife in the same situation, that kid would never have the opportunity to "wander off". There's freaking dead people, come-to-life. Her only child would be by her side at all time. It would make for boring TV but it would be more indicative of what a real mother would be like.

I was impressed with Glenn's head slash. Daryl must be giving out lessons

Last nights episode was epic!
I was scared, then laughing, rolled my eyes a little and finally was crying. Watching Lori say good-bye to Carl because she was about to chose her own death really struck a note with me for some reason. All three actors in that scene did a tremendous job, I started thinking about my wife and my own kids then when they came out with the baby and Rick just lost it, I seriously just balled my eyes out for a couple of minutes.
Season 3 has been fantastic, so much better the two although i didn't hate last season but since the first season was so amazingly new it was always going to be hard to top.

Terrible mothers are real, though.
From that perspective, it's easy to see how those things happened.
Lori didn't let a little bit of zombie apocalypse stop her from separating herself from the group to wander off into the woods to bang her Husband's best friend.
Kid thinks like his mother, in a way:
"Zombie Apocalypse? Better react irrationally."

They should have shot Lori first, so she had least wouldn't feel the anguish of her insides being slashed open.
I definitely got a bit of a lez vibe between Andrea and Michonne....camera must have lingered on that last look they gave each other for some reason.

Merle also thinks she's a dyke.
Whether that's because she shot down his advances or actually is a lesbian, remains to be seen.

Lori added such a great deal to the storyline, and was one of the strongest actors on the show. I'll never get the amount of venom and hate she got or characters like her do.

haha I don't get it either. Her, along with Skyler from Breaking Bad, portray a woman in those situations pretty well! I think precisely because of that, they're "hated"

The problem with characters like Lori, is that in every show about a male anti-hero's path to redemption (Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Dexter etc.) is that there is always a wife that does whatever she can to make the male anti-hero less awesome and fun. They do a lot to ground the show and add realism, but they're always the same, shifting their loyalty between their men and their values. It never really leads anywhere and the characters have nothing new to say by seasons 2-4, at which point they are unceremoniously dumped (Rita, Betty) or they are too essential to the shows character and the writers desperately try to give them something interesting to do (Carmela, Skyler).
For some people who watch a lot of these shows, like me, Lori was just a limp re-incarnation of a character we were sick of long ago.

It's always the posts about lesbians that get the most thanks.
