Absolutely nothing is happening with either Tanev, Hanifin, Markstrom or Mangiapane for at least 2 weeks
At which point
Tanev gets injured for 9 months and therefore unable to trade
Hanifin agrees to an extension
Markstrom refuses to waive and this results in Wolf demanding a trade
Mangiapane quits hockey and becomes a club DJ

The last one is ok by me.

This constant need to hold guys sharing information's feet to the fire is getting old.
I don't think either is in on the negotiations with Conroy. I don't think either have ever claimed to be 100% in the know about anything.
They have contacts that are two or three steps away (likely) and won't always come to fruition.
Not to mention every discussion / rumour doesn't end in a trade. Sometimes you get close and it doesn't happen making the rumour look bogus.
If you think it's complete BS ignore it.
But the majority of the site finds it interesting so this need to test their accuracy is getting pretty old.
Not that my advice matters, but if I could suggest one thing to dissentowner it would be to maybe not state desires between two rumoured teams so definitively. It's not a shot that our insiders (rasta notwithstanding) aren't aware of Flames trades when they go down.
But when dissentowner is asked about a rumour and can nail down how both teams feel with close details about what team A wants and what team B wants and which team is hung up on which players like he has ears in both GM offices and then an actual trade comes up with zero knowledge, it just comes off weird. If ears were that close then they'd pick up rumblings of a Vancouver trade, or others, even if details weren't exact.
Should probably hold back and just post tidbits and rumblings instead of trying to write a Freidman style blog post about what's going on between two teams.

I think teams check the medical records of all players they are trading for, or would like to trade for.
I haven't scrolled through every page yet so this might've been addressed but there are circumstances that allow doctors to disclose records to certain individuals. I wonder if part of the player's contract includes waiving HIIPA rights to the Flames for their use in purposes of internal contract negotiation, players assistance, trade, etc.
When I go to the doctor, there are lines on a waiver that allows my to release the record to employer, family, or whomever I choose.
*also not a doctor or lawyer and don't currently live in Canada so maybe take this as a grain of salt*
If what's been said is true. Kylington isn't going anywhere and Conroy thinks he replaces Hanifin.
I also believe Kylington probably only want to play for the Flames after what they've done to help him.
Probably not worth a conversation. His value is likely higher to CGY than any other team right now. Outside perspective is there's a lot of risk with the player

What do you guys think, does Kylington have any value as a rental?
Would he debate coming back if the team traded him?
PS: I'm not saying we should trade him, and I think it would be best if the Flames could sign him to a 4-5 year cap-friendly deal.
With respect to Kylington, I’d be surprised if other teams would take the risk now. I would suspect they’d want a longer track record of games post-recovery (for lack of a better term).
JOSH REINITZ of the Hockey Writers posted this today:
"the Flames are in line for a good return. A package including Kevin Bahl, Graeme Clarke, and a future second-round pick should be sufficient to land Hanifin without either retention or an extension."
