There's what, 18 games left on the Jays schedule? 14-4 might do it.

Remaining games
1 vs Cubs
3 vs Rays
3 vs Orioles
4 vs Yankees
4 vs Mariners
3 vs Orioles
8 games vs teams under them and 10 games vs teams ahead of them.

Winning today would be huge.. Tomorrow being an off day with the two wild card leaders tied there's a decent chance they'll get a free 0.5 game. If they could somehow pick up a game or even a half game tonight it's not hard to imagine them 3/3.5 games back entering their next series in a real good spot with Seattle and Oakland about to have a short series.
Lots of ifs and buts but that's the position they put themselves in by going into the tank for that stretch.

For sure. I still think they're done like dinner, but might as well keep winning and see what happens.

I'm still in the camp that they won't make it, but I do think they will make it very very close. They basically can't lose any more games.

Yeah, I really can't see how this season is going to end with the Jays in the playoffs. That being said, they're doing their part and winning a lot of games recently. Trouble is, the teams in front of them are doing the same thing.
What a game for Stroman, though. Very impressed with him ... seems like he has a chance to be a significant part of the rotation for quite some time.

Back to back games where it's turned into a laugher for the Jays late. Now 11-1 for the Jays in the 8th. Nice to see the Canadian kid Pompey get his first AB in the majors, grounded out to first but still collected an RBI. Looked like dad was wiping away a tear or two. Cool moment for that family.

Jays twitter feed says Pompey is only the second Canadian-born Blue Jay to record an RBI at his first at bat..........Lawrie is the other.
And the Jays complete the sweep. Morrow has been throwing some heat lately. Hit 99 tonight.

They've really pulled themselves back into it. I could actually see them making it. 4 teams ahead of them and they are 3.5 back of two and 4.5 back of the other two, just need to pass two, that's doable. Of course that assumes the tribe and the yankees don't run the table.
Tough schedule down the stretch though... Two series against the Orioles will be very difficult to win, they are destroying even with all their injuries. I hate them and Showalter, just waiting for that guy to have a stroke on field throwing one of his little hissy fits.

I am happy that they are at least making it interesting. It's still a longshot that they make it, but they are playing (to a certain extent) important baseball in September. Hopefully its a sign of things to come for next year.

Mariners lose 5-2. Great night on the OOT scoreboard.
Jays now 3 games behind Seattle, 3.5 behind the A's and Tigers. Going to be tough to squeeze in, but at least it's interesting again.

Chances have not improved much even after win streak, because of strength of schedule, teams in front of them, and limited games remaining = 1.9%. Too late.

14-4 gives them a coin flip's chance.

They haven't updated from last night's games.
I imagine they will have to go 14-3 to finish out the season for a good chance.
Sweep the Rays, Mariners and Yankees. Split the games vs the Orioles.
Sounds improbable, considering they have to play at NY.
Will the Orioles rest their players in the final series?

Kc is in the mix too. Might not seem like much given they are 4.5 up but the odds of 2/4 teams crashing out are a lot better than 2/3. I think they'll be close if they go 12-5 as long as those five losses don't come against the yanks or mariners.

That Cespedes for Lester trade has really back fired for Oakland.
When the Jays miss the playoffs they can look square at their record against the White Sox for why that happened. Even that 1-3 series against the Astros in Houston is looking like a nice kick in the nads. Had they been 2-2 there and 3-4 against the Whitesox on the season they'd be much more in the mix.
The Cubs looked like a Northern League team in this past series. Good thing people still revere Wrigley Field or that team would be drawing as well as the Major League Indians did, they're god awful.
