Well that was a huge blown opportunity. Talk about the Blue Jays blowing leads tonight. Janssen isn't what he was last year, and he shouldn't be pitching where he is based on his recent performances.

The problem is they are all pathetic in the bullpen so who do you put as closer?

Sanchez is on a very tight innings count and the rest could get an out to save their lifes

Valid point. I am just frustrated that we couldn't close out a game that seemed very winnable.

The mid relief staff and closers for the Jays in 1 word are dysfunctional.

Sanchez should take over as closer for the rest of this season.

I might try Morrow at the role too next year. I think he the starter role is not working for him. Let him come out of the pen and use two pitches.

Where was today's Casey Janssen yesterday? Still can't believe they lost that game yesterday. Dickey was pretty good today.

Edit: Oooops, I meant I can't believe they lost Friday's game, not yesterday's.

Stroman is wheeling and dealing tonight. In the 8th inning, just gave up only his 2nd hit of the game, after retiring 19 in a row.

Just got a K to end the top of the 8th, and has only thrown 82 pitches.

CG shutout, Jays win 8-0.

The kid is good. And what a nice play by Goins to end the game.

So that Stroman guy is pretty good eh? 9 innings, 3 hits, ZERO walks, and 8 Ks....sheesh!

What a performance, and the ending was alright too!

At least one National League team has had one, sometimes two scouts following the Blue Jays for three weeks, focusing on Cabrera. One of those scouts said he thought his team would do a four-year deal for Cabrera — something approximating shortstop Jhonny Peralta’s four-year, $53-million contract signed last winter with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Peralta’s deal may provide something of a way forward for dealing with the detritus of the games steroid scandal. It is loaded at the front end: $15 million this season, $15.5 million next season and $12.5 million and $10 million for the remaining two years, which gives the Cardinals a bit of insurance against Peralta breaking down. That first-year figure, in fact, looks a great deal like the anticipated qualifying offer the Blue Jays will need to make to Cabrera.

That escalated quickly. Nice to see the bats come alive late in the game. Their playoff hopes are pretty dim, but they might as well keep battling. Love seeing guys like Sanchez and Norris pitch. Jays have some very nice young arms.

Oakland has been struggling lately but won tonight and right now the Mariners are down 1-0 in the fifth to Houston, miracles can happen and the Mariners might lose tonight.

Mariners did lose tonight, so there is a very small glimmer of hope still. Need the Jays to go on a huge streak now. Winning their last 8 out of 10 is a good start.

If they win the next 8 out of 10, they might pull back into things, but that's still a big if.
