I'm up to 275, but ran out of Pinap berries. So, about 30 more to catch.

I haven't even seen one tododile, or any other johto starters.
Where are you guys catching all of these?

I have a Feraligator. Caught it in the wild while visiting Florida. Picked up a Heracross there as well.

There was a Totodile nest up in Sherwood that Thesilphroad reported. There were usually 3-4 of them there every day I showed up there.
Nests have now migrated though and it's no longer there.

Down to 10k of walking for two Kabuto candies, and about a dozen Magicarp candies away from completing my gen 1 Pokedex.
Total Pokedex now 202.

Apparently the odds for getting one are 1/4096. Very very rare. I'm not sure if Unowns are more rare or not. Apparently even in super dense spawn areas like Hong Kong or New York, there are only one or two in the whole city at a time where Dragonites there are 15-20. They still have city wide scanners there.

Ha. I caught a 13 point shiny tonight. Didn't check IV, but appraisal said it was strong, so evolved it into 236 point red Gyarados. Took 140 more candy and 160k dust to top it out at just under 3000 CP, where it now sits atop a gym.
Quite pleased.

Well in the last 24 hours I have managed 2 Metal Coats. I already have one Steelix and I am only a few candies short of evolving a Scyther.

Got me a shiny Magikarp today. 56% IV. Not the best, not the worst. I'll probably have to evolve a different, better Magikarp as my first since I'm only level 21 and have absolutely nothing good. Highest CP I have is like 1200.

Your high IV Gyarados will almost be 100 times your level, maxed out. 56% is unfortunate though. It's max will be at least 100 points lower CP, at your level, probably 150. Will also take another 80 candy to max it.
You are better than me though. Even though it would eat up 500 candy and 80k dust to make a meh Pokémon, I wouldn't be able to help myself. I'd have to.

Id be less concerned about the strength of my dudes if I were in a better state when it comes to gyms. I really want to get into them and get some coins, but everything around here is dominated by blue, and I picked red because it's the best colour, obviously. As it stands, I've never had a Pokemon in a gym in my entire time playing, and most stuff here has the lowest Pokemon at around double my best. Seems like such an uphill battle to even get started on gyms.
Really looking forward to the promised gym overhaul. Hoping it becomes a bit more viable to get into them at below level 30, and it sure would be nice to see more than the same 5 Pokemon in every gym.

You mentioned before players should wait and conserve Stardust until level 30. I have some high IV captures/hatches that are all level 20-22 like Dragonites (with steelwing/hurricane though), Gyarados with good moves, Vaporeons, Flareons, Jolteons (all good moves). Are these worth the Stardust powering up now or better to wait till to see if I can get better by level 30?

Hatched a 100% slugma from a 2km egg yesterday.
My second 100%, along side my 100% kingler.
