So you would rather have him than your least favorite player on the team.... big deal.

I would like to have SOMEONE GOOD on the 2nd line.

I've said it before and I will say it again that it was a seriously dumb move to trade Sven to the Canucks. The potential for the move to haunt the Flames for the next decade could start as early as Wednesday.

Gaudreau is everything I wish Sven turned into. How can anybody still be bitter that we lost him?

I get that people are upset about it, what I don't get is seemingly more "mature" or "grown up"adult posters slamming a kid for 100 pages.

We will have guys able to get Sven off his game. If they even dress him. Sven will not be a difference maker in this series.

the second round pick they gave us probably has a better chance at haunting the canucks for the next decade... Also it is one game against the oilers he was only playing because there was no pressure to win. I doubt he dresses a game in the playoffs and if he does good the pressure and physical play will make him fold, Calgary knows exactly how to play Baertchi to make him ineffective.

That's what great about opinions, everyone is entitled to have one. My opinion would have been to keep Sven in the AHL till he learned to skate his whole shift and back check. I think it's important to have guys like Mason on the second or third line because they play defence and get in passing lanes versus floating around. Is Mason my first choice? Not at all, is he better than Sven in that role? So far what both players have shown Mason is considerably better. That might change in a few years but right now Sven is not a better NHL player then Mason.

I wonder what kind of contract Benning is going to give him at the end of the year. Seems like he's been in the giving spirit lately, 3 years 12 million?

I don't like it either, but then I prefer a 2nd round pick to a 3rd or 4th rd pick.

At the end of the day, Treliving's job is to build the best Calgary Flames team. He should not be worrying about what other teams are doing.

Your problem (and i'm like that too), is not really about Sven finding success, it's really about our hatred of the Canucks, and that will never change, NEVER.

So I say, don't worry about Sven, just keep on hating the Canucks, it's natural, and it's fun!

I don't know if the poster realizes this but Baertchi is an adult he just has the mentality of a child.

Some mature quicker then others. Not every young player has the Gaudreau/Monahan maturity.

He definitely is starting to tick me off too. Every chance he gets another jab at the organization that drafted him.

you guys are upset because he says he felt fortunate to be with the canucks?

when has a player, besides olli jokinen, said any different after being traded to a new team?

you are angry because you want to be angry.

Sven seems to be flourishing as a typical Canuck. Hate him just like I do all Canucks. I cheer for clothes!

Those that write thoughtful analysis like above must have taken psychology 101, are grateful for being able to sit in daddy's basements making the world a better place one post at a time, clearly that must be only conclusion.

People are angry I think because a lot of them defended Sven while he was here, and defended him against the notion that he had attitude problems and entitlement issues which were causing his underperformance with the club.

Then post trade as he continues to open his mouth, it becomes clear that those attitude and entitlement issues were in fact the problem. So people feel betrayed because they stuck up for him, and now he's proving them wrong with his comments. I doubt very much it has anything to do with Sven feeling fortunate to be with the Nucks.
