Really he probably had it tougher in the AHL than against Scrivens and the Oilers tonight as against 90% of the starters in the NHL neither of those goals go in but as we see in Calgary guys like Joe Colborne get to pad their stats playing the Oilers so good for Sven for taking advantage of playing a historically bad team.
Mason Raymond got a hat-trick against the Oilers. Not much of an accomplishment.
I think it's time to kill this thread. We have a playoff series against this greaseball team around the corner. Even if it's Baertschi, there should be no thread on here following the progress of any of their players.
It's time to rekindle the hatred.
Screw the Canucks and screw Sven Baertschi.

"That's me as a hockey player; tonight is how I can play," said Baertschi, who arrived in a March 2 trade for a second-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. "I can play in this League, it's just making sure I show up every day here. I was blessed being traded to Vancouver and now it's time for me to show up."
Why couldn't you "show up" when you were in Calgary? What exactly was preventing you from bringing your best effort while you were here?!
Damn you Sven, you've got me hoping Bouma or Ferland lay you out on Wednesday night.

I thought the second one was nice. First was just terrible goaltending

Sven is going to be a solid pro...too bad Burke decided to torpedo his chances for Flames....we could have used some skill like his on the 2nd line wing in the years to come.
"Blessed to be traded to Vancouver", it's actually pretty understandable now why this thread is always revived... every time he opens his mouth he gives more ammo. Jesus.

What a hack! Glad we traded him. Sounds like a spoiled brat who thought everything would be handed to him and he wouldn't have to work. Ferland is going to crush him!

That being said, let's go Flames!
I would LOVE to hear your rationale for Burke ruining Sven. He's not the one that healthy scratched him. He's not the one who played him on the 4th line. He's not the one that made him not produce in Abbotsford or Adirondack either. Blaming Brian Burke is the ultimate cop out for any decisions made by this team.

He said something mean, like that Sven needed to compete in all areas of the ice. That gave Sven a sad and made him play poorly.
Seriously, there's no one to blame for Sven Baertschi not succeeding in Calgary, other than Sven Baertschi.
His fan boys are all of the same ilk as him, entitled and unaccountable. They are projecting issues from their own lives (with their father's, or bosses, or authority figure) and relating to Sven and that's why they support him.
There's no one to blame but Sven. He is the one who pouted, he is the one who didn't want to work his way up, he is the one who didn't produce, he is the one who didn't want to evolve, he is the one who wanted out.
I don't think there will be much justice if he finds success, but good for him if he finds it with the Canucks. I think the Flames did all they could for him.

Blah blah blah...I know, we all hate Sven know.....all I know is I would take him on the 2nd line over the likes of Mason Raymond any day of the week.
If you don't know by now as a player that you have to play for the team identity and earn your spot as a Calgary Flame and even as a AHL prospect here than your going to be like Sven Baertschi was here. I don't miss his entitled attitude at all and to be quite frank I think he's been a complete ass since the trade. If he is so 'blessed' about being a nuck he should stop taking shots at the team that made that happen. The Flames did nothing but treat Sven like everyone else and he took offense to that for whatever reason.
