I'm pretty sure they're making a movie or two.

Not quite the crazy rampage I was hoping for, but that was to be expected if they want to keep movie options open.

I havent really followed 24 quite like I followed Lost,
But that felt more like a season finale than a series finale.

24 is an awesome show. No matter how ridiculous it got (and it got pretty damn ridiculous sometimes), it was always an awesome show.
Going to re-watch seasons 1-5 now over the summer.

Best show! I was sad about that much more than lost. I will miss 24 more than any show. It's like a great book that you put down and miss the characters.
Like Jack said at the end. Amazing through all that the one constant he had was Chloe. Weird.
Sad day for Wookie.

End of an era...a bit sad for us for the fact that only show the wife and I make sure we made time for over the past 6 years every Monday. Year before that I watched, and we missed the first two...but have all seasons on DVD (the only shows we have like that) and watched some between seasons.
The garbage Global feed didn't have it, but the Rochester Fox (just like the previews which Global has to pump their news broadcast for the 40th time) started off with Kiefer Sutherland thanking fans.
Since its the last episode ever, may as well take a look at some odd occurances...
"Events occur is real time" - Dusted off that one, haven't used that one for a regular episode for at least 4 or 5 season (other then the opening episode of every season). Recall when the Flames pre-game video was based on the 24 opening and included this line?
Suvarov took almost an hour in the car from the airport (I thought he was supposed to take a chopper downtown at the end of last episode too?). I know NYC has traffic issues, but when CTU and everyone else is across Midtown in 6 minutes this season, seemed excessive.
The little grin that Jack had at the end of hour as he had the viewfinder on Logan was great...how many smiles has Jack had when not talking to a girlfriend or Kim?
What happened to the signing outside the UN? Such a big production and big world event, and everything was setup for that but in the end they had the historic signing in some cramped room at the end of a hallway.
And the video recording...I thought Jack was doing it for Kim. Was Logan's recordings on that same card?
Another season, another chewed off ear thanks to Jack.
Good thing for those unreliable drones coming through...also didn't know they were armed with missles and picking up microwaves to triangulate phones...considering clouds impeded them and some ran out of batteries, good thing this one worked in the middle of nowhere to pickup the van and Jack...again with missles at the ready.
Where did Jack get that phone he had at the end...one of the 6 he bought? How did he still have that on his body?
And Jack's gotten out of worse jams...most of his wreckage this year was in the name of justice and since the president is turning herself in, most of Jack's actions can be explained, can't they? The Russians would be out for him though, of course.
Somewhat rushed to get to the emotional ending (had to be him and Chole "shutting it down")...similar to the faking of Jack's death where he had to flee and run away and supposedly never return.
Of course the clock had to be different...figured it would go past 24:00, but counted down to 00:00.
Surely sets up for a movie...Logan somehow survives (deserves another Emmy nomination for his facial expressions alone this season), Chole, Jack, maybe Freddie Prinze, Kim Bauer-Phaneuf, and maybe the odd old character back...just don't know how a 2h movie in real time works other then tying up loose ends...which doesn't really appeal as a standalone to anyone who hasn't seen the show. Should be interesting, and can't see them taking too long to roll it out.
But tough to not have the show to watch between January and May ever again, getting attached to the characters and the sometimes over the top storylines or weird timing issues will be missed.

that was outstanding, absolutely 10/10 stuff
a great end for the tv series, and it also sets up the movie very well
the last 10 episodes of this season have been some of the best 24 ever

Unless I was imagining things, I recall reading an interview or article on some site with info from one of the producers stating that any 24 movie would drop the real-time aspect of the series (only carrying over characters).
Interesting how the producers were claiming it wouldn't be a happy ending to the show for Jack when that is about as happy an ending as Jack could have gotten. (cue massage jokes)

I heard somethign similar, but the movie would take place over 24hrs, so it wouldn't be realtime, but it would still cover one day in the life of JB.

24 will be greatly missed. My wife and I started watching religiously back when we were dating and have always had "24 night". I still remember buying the DVD set of season 1 and sitting her down and saying "we have to watch this right now".

Logan screaming like a school girl when Jaso-err, I mean Jack, was attacking the limo was amazing. Great actor all around....the guy looks just like Richard Nixon too, which definitely helps the character.
Freddy Prince on the other hand was one guy I could never really take seriously. The guy's too much of a baby faced teen-dream to be in that role (the puzzled constipation look he had going most of the time didn't help either.)

I figured it would be a rampage too, but I don't think he killed anyone at all. The worst he did was knock out Pillar and put Chloe to sleep. Kind of strange.
