Original sometimes sucks as well. Especially if it’s contrived. I laughed the first time I heard the Preds fans do their goalie chant. Then it got tiresome.
For me True North also represents our identity, my identity as a Winnipegger. A harsh climate and adversity breed comradery and kinship. It's not just about the ownership group, it's about being in a group. I love it. Every time I hear it I smile.

My issue with the Wave is that it looks lame even if most people are involved. Not to rehash more soccer talk, but the Poznan looks cooler.

Imagine being annoyed by something as fun and harmless as the wave.

Do you loudly proclaim the word shutout when our team is protecting a shutout because you know that it has nothing to do with the outcome?

People have superstitions. It's sport.

Trust me, you aren't the first person to discover that fan superstitions have nothing to do with what happens on the ice.

I'm sensing a lot of pent up aggression. Perhaps a beer is in order!

No. I have to start out with two beers first. Then comes the pocket dawg. Then it's one more beer. Then bag o peanuts. Then two more beers for the third.

If I don't do this, the Flames WILL lose. Do you want the Flames to LOSE???

I understand superstition, I personally don't participate the wave unless we are up by 3 or more and it's 1 minute left in the game. However, I would not ban people who are not superstitious and think doing wave is fun. They paid good money to go to the game and it's their right to have harmless fun.

I don't like the wave as I am short and already have trouble seeing the half the ice when everyone is sitting, once everyone stands up, I am screwed!

It's not harmless. It actively alters the destiny of the universe, to the detriment of our preferred team.

The wave is one of the worst audience participation things ever invented.

I think some of you need to smoke some DMT. It might actually bring you back down to earth.

Sports fans can be superstitious and have opinions on different ways to cheer, dress and act at a sporting event? Whaaaaat? No way! Impossible.

Even if it was your first day in CP, this should not be a surprise to anyone.

Don't be the two women that sat behind me at the last game. Real high pitched, nails down a chock board voices that carried a mile despite how loud the Dome was. Nattered the entire game about everything from getting there eyebrows done to what shoes they were going to wear tomorrow. Not quite sure if they realized they were at a hockey game.

Next time bring a cowbell. You may have a temporary loss of hearing, but it may be better than that alternative.

The wave is bad. Do NOT say shutout unless it’s against the other team. TRUE NORTH is lame. C and RED are cool. Wear red, preferably a jersey. If it’s a different jersey it better be for the other team or you are just a goof.
