Takes off the knee brace and turns into the Super 5 we all expect. I was actually amazed. I think Westbrook still wins the award for most underrated player in the league. Unfortunately, Philly also won the award for worst throwback jerseys ever. I can't even believe Reebok agreed to produce those.
It was nice to see Kevin Curtis finally emerge. Quentin Mikell also did a lot to cement his position as Dawkins eventual replacement. Every week I am more and more impressed with Omar Gaither and Broderick Bunkley.

Still so far I've lost one game for one point, and I'm still only in like 8th place for the week in this stupid pickem (How da fugg does that word?)!!! When will the rest of you guys wake up, realize who you really are and start sucking already! Gosh.

Congrats to Favre. Best I've seen him look since probably 2003 or 04. Driver and the O-line were fantastic as well. Rivers was also excellent IMO, but Tomlinson and the Charger D do not seem to be up to their standards of last year. I knew Norv was bad, but to I didn't think he was Art Shell level of bad. I think Pittsburgh has replaced San Diego as the #3 team in the AFC - lucky for SD the AFC west looks pretty spotty this year.
Houston also looks like a possible playoff team all of a sudden. Missing basically their only real offensive weapon to start the game and losing a ton of guys during the game , and still getting within 6 of Indy is very impressive to me. Possibly the toughest division top to bottom in the NFL though, so they have a tough road.

Yeah, I agree that the AFC West is looking like the weakest of the four divisions and that the AFC South looks like the best. Indy is still sitting pretty nicely though having already won two division road games. The Wild Card spots in the AFC are coming from either the North or the South this year. I think the East is really weak outside of New England but they do have the powerhouse Pats whereas the other teams in the West in my opinion aren't as bad as the teams in the East..but no one is anywhere near the Patriots type of thing. AFC West is probably a closer division than many gave it credit for.

As Al Michaels mentioned at the end of the broadcast last night, it's probably a pretty safe bet Grossman will be the QB getting the most grief this week.

McNabb is a fool. He played a great game that will definitely make his critics take a step back. But, the idiot continues to play the race card as if it's the only card in the deck.
On his blog Yardbarker.com, McNabb writes: Black quarterbacks have to deal with different things than white quarterbacks. If you don't think it's true, then you are naive. I bet Frank Tarkenton, Steve Young, Jake Plummer and Doug Flutie have never been told by a member of a racial consciousness organization that they don't play the quarterback position white enough.
Stop it. Every quarterback in the league has gone through criticism (Grossman is going to have a bad week). It's part of the position. Not even his peers rally to support McNabb. It's getting close to the time when McNabb has to be put on the shelf for the rest of the season... maybe then it can just be about football.

I didn't have anyone score big numbers on any of my teams.
But I did get stomped by Ronnie Brown.
(and how often will Pitt score 37 and Willie Parker get 0 TD and Big Ben only throw 1?)

Simply the biggest difference from 2 yars ago and towards the end of ;ast year.
A LOT of his INT's were because of being rushed/forced to throw early....not just because of bad decisions as so many were saying.
The Pack are now 10-3 in thier last 13 games.

It isn't curious at all. Those guys you listed are all pocket passers.
The guys McNabb listed were all known for their scrambling ability.
Edit: From Wiki:
Quote:
Tarkenton played for the Vikings from 1961 to 1966, during this time he developed the nickname "Fran the Scrambler" as he ran around the backfield to avoid being sacked by the opposition (this behavior also led to the nickname "Frantic Fran" and the "Wee One").
|
Edit: I'm not old enough to remember him playing - I remember him from the TV show "That's Incredible"

Maybe you can explain what McNabb meant by that quote.
He's basically saying that certain black organizations are critical of him because he doesnt play the QB position "black enough". What does that even mean?

It's not even a McNabb quote. Some asswad from the NAACP said it after McNabb said he doesn't like being known as a scrambling QB.

Sure.

He is comparing himself to Tarkenton, Young, Plummer and Flutie as QBs who were all scramblers. But he is betting that they weren't told to change their style to be more "white". I guess he is implying that people have told him to try to be more of a pocket passer, aka a "white" QB.
If he has been told that, I wish he would name names. I've never really considered it like that before, but if he has people telling him to play more like a white QB I can see how that would rub him wrong. However I don't think he should paint the whole NFL establishment with the racism brush. If he is going to air dirty laundry, then drop the "woe is me" act.

That's not actually how it happened. The leader of the Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP criticized McNabb for becoming more of a pocket passer and not playing the position "black enough".

Yes, I saw your first identical post. That is what McNabb is referring to. However, McNabb's blog (as stated in my original post) is his response to that NAACP.
http://www.yardbarker.com/donovanmcnabb
I re-read the post. He does actually name Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Carson Palmer.
"Black quarterbacks have to deal with different things than white
quarterbacks. If you don't think that's true than you are naïve. Peyton, Tom
and Carson to name a few, have never been asked what it's like to be a white quarterback. They probably have not been told that they should have
scrambled more. I bet Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young, Jake Plummer, and Doug Flutie have never been told by a member of any racial consciousness organization that they don't play the quarterback position white enough."
