Coronato would be the last player I'd want to trade (except for Wolf). If he's made it clear he intends to return to the USA though, Cozens would be a great return for him.
To be clear, I haven't seen anything to indicate that Coronato intends to leave, but, as a Flames fan, I'm traumatized.

I feel there could be some steam, not necessarily Flames specific however as a number of teams are interested.
As for missing practice, I'm told he's not hurt.
|
Hmmm. Coach said cozens has a lower body injury. Exactly what torts said about frost before he got traded.

The most logical trade chip we have for a hockey deal, in Sharangovich, is having a terrible year.

He's turned it around though TBH. 10 points in his last 12 games, leads the Flames in that time. Still isn't shooting the puck enough but he's getting better.
His current pace would be 20 goals and 40 points over the course of a full 82 game season, or the same pace as Cozens is on right now (15 goal and 40 point)
I do wonder if he's be attractive to Buffalo - doesn't have trade protection and is locked up for 5 years at $5.75M.
Actually reminds me a bit of them getting Tuch as the main piece in an Eichel trade since he was the right age and cost controlled.

How in the hell do Pelletier and Kuzmenko not have the proper visas to go into the US? They're in that country at least a couple times a month to play hockey. Seems ridiculous. If that trade hadn't happened they would have gone to Seattle to play with the Flames.

With Trump and Musk threatening to eliminate so many US Government jobs I would imagine a lot of civil servants looking over their shoulder to see if they will still have a job in an hour. Not good for productivity.

I assume its a different visa when you are going there to live, vs. just working.

It does seem weird. I don't know if there is a difference is visa requirements if you are just spending a few days at a time in the U.S. from Canada, as opposed to living out of the U.S. But still, it doesn't normally seem to take this long, especially for Canadians.

If Montreal is serious about Cozens they easily have the best pieces to put together a package IMO.
Dach, Newhook, Heineman, Guhle, Mailloux as young guys that would be roster pieces.
Plus they have 2 1sts and 2 2nds this year.

Maybe you missed him at the 2021 WJ's where he had 8g-16pts in 7 games which was twice as many as the next Canadian.
Drafted as a #1 center, big, great skater, high-end IQ, great shot and highly competitive. Just because Tage Thompson came out of nowhere to replace Eichel and got most of the top center and PP time doesn't remotely mean he can't take the role.
Conroy should work his ass off to get this guy, everyone should be on the table not named Wolf and maybe Parekh

There's no way I'd trade Parekh. That's asinine.

You'd hold up a four year old seven game sample as evidence of his greatness while ignoring everything since? It's fine to like the guy but that feels like a stretch

like we said earlier, there is a decent list of players that excel when they leave Buffalo. Cozens seems like the perfect candidate to become the player he's capable of with a change of scenery
