Looking at our team, especially last night, what we need is more quality D. When Bahl gets back we are still clearly short a top 4 dman to push for a playoff spot. Trading Ras would put us in tank territory and I don't see Conroy doing that.

Not sure if this is already posted:
The Hockey News NHL Insider's potential trade with Buffalo for Cozens
Looks like Coronato name is brought up. Not sure if the Flames want to give him up as he's only one of 2 right shot forwards and is he is currently producing. However, if the Sabres want Huberdeau, why not? Hate to lose Kadri in the midst of a playoff hunt and you'd be getting a young right shot center in exchange for a gritty older left shot center plus prospects or another player. Question is, is Dylan Cozens worth it?

None of the above is likely to or can happen for a number of reasons.

I was just looking at it from Players in an out for the Flames.
I really like the Zegras idea.
Rasmus to the Ducks for Zegras
Zegras to Buffalo for Cozens
Probably other players involved and picks, but this could work. I think the Ducks are trying to turn the corner and probably could get more for Rasmus with RS than Zegras at this point.
Or the Flames trade picks to get Zegras and flip him for Cozens. Probably need picks on both trades so I prefer Rasmus as I just don't see paying him $8 mil+ for 8 years as a good move for this team.

Unless you're getting a star back and Coronato and a pick or prospect are part of the deal, he's basically untouchable IMO with where the Flames are at. His skill set and age is far to valuable to move for a Cozens.
If you're moving a young forward in a deal for a C like Cozens it would have to be Zary way before anyone else. He's still a bigger question mark in my eyes and hasn't fully found his niche as an NHLer yet.

Paging Royle and Sec. Any movement on Cozens? Any relevance with him being out of practice?

I think Coronato and Zary should not be included in any trades unless it is a very clear upgrade which there isnt much. Both have exceeded their potential and continue to get better. Zary will be racking up points once he puts everything togtehr, his offensive skill is crazy good. Coronato has a wicked shot and crazy work rate. 2 studs. Both can be first liners in this league with how they keep progressing

No one is going to give fair value for him so they're going to have to accept something. I ireally think the Flames should find a way to get it done because I think he could be their #1C moving forward.

You are not wrong, but Seravalli has been on record multiple times saying that he doesn't think the Flames have any pieces that Buffalo wants. He's not always right, but in this instance I think he's probably correct. So, the demand from Buffalo has to change or the Flames have to be more willing to give up substantial roster players for a hope that this guy turns it around.

Well can't wait to see what happens when he finds one because he has a better PPG than either Frost or Cozens in a year where he converted from wing to C and has been snakebit.

You really don't think nearly every team in the league has someone like Zary who isn't quite a C or isn't quite a W yet lol? He's a promising young player but the jury is still out on what he ends up as and that could be anything from a 2nd or 3rd line W or C. More of a long shot, but even 1st line isn't totally out of the question depending on how his next year or so goes.
If you think he's a lock at any position or role at this point we aren't watching the same player.

Royal and Sec silence could either mean this is nothing, or the Flames are very close.

Coronato, Zary, Wolf and Parekh are the last pieces I would consider moving.
Weegar, Bahl, Frost, Farabee and Andersson would also likely require a significant upgrade to consider moving given the recent trade and league wise classiness recognition coupled with importance for the team.
The most logical trade chip we have for a hockey deal, in Sharangovich, is having a terrible year.

I feel there could be some steam, not necessarily Flames specific however as a number of teams are interested.
As for missing practice, I'm told he's not hurt.
