Those passes by Backlund! Especially Bread’s first. Doesn’t even look and it’s right on the tape......

If Backlund's firing, this team looks totally different. Still very much need another NHL caliber winger, but Backlund coming back to life here means the world to this club's playoff ability.

Top line's crazy, I guess eventually I just have to admit that Lindholm is a much better center than I expected. Johnny's moving his feet more than the last 3 years, skating hard and uncontainable because of it.

Pretty amazing.

Flames win, Oilers lose - makes my day every time I see that!

Toronto was a heck of a challenge last time we saw them, very curious to see how this game plays out.
Why is it always "the other team didn't come to play"? Vegas played their number one goalie didn't they? How many times do the Flames need to blow out good teams before people admit that maybe, just maybe the Flames are imposing their will on teams and controlling play.

I like these little bits. Francis is the one that seems to ask questions that draws some information out of the coach.

Loved the little comment after it was over about the back to backs, referencing Vegas (thumbs down), Edmonton and Vancouver.

What a glorious, glorious evening. Tippett is officially dust now too.

If we can acquire Toffoli without moving much from the existing roster, we have 4 excellent lines to match up. If we can get them to retain 1.5 we can get the cap to work while still having Richie as a 13F and a 7th D like Stone.

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Dube-Monahan-Toffoli
Lucic-Ruzicka-Lewis
Ritchie

Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Tanev
Zadorov-Gudbranson
Stone

Markstrom
Vladar

I think that's got the depth needed for a run.

We need to do everything possible to ensure Johnny and Matt are here long term, together. They have chemistry, they're two of the top players in the game, and their games compliment each other well.

You have been on HF Oilers too much apparently, readily subscribing to the while idea that teams take it easy on the Flames
